A Critical Look At Gej's Transformation Agenda by Nobody: 7:20pm On Jan 21, 2015
In this season of elections, you see political gladiators throwing verbal fisticuffs here and there. They say the other party or government in power has failed. GEJ has had a fair share of this. They say he is clueless, docile and weak. That he has failed and he has nothing to show for his years in power so far. Even in the court of public opinion. Nigerians have been having their opinions aired on several platforms especially the social media. But taking an objective look at Nigeria in the last four years, can we really say GEJ has done nothing or something remarkable?

Let's take a critical look at key sectors of the economy and see how far he has fared.

1. EDUCATION: he established 12 new federal universities a feat that no other government in the annals of Nigeria's history has ever done. Creating jobs for people in academics and bringing development to the host communities. I graduated from a state university and I I can boldly tell you 70% of the structures on campus was built by the TETFUND a parastatal of the federal government. Same goes for the universal basic education board which intervenes in primary and secondary education.

2. ROADS: for a long time, we used to hear one thing or the other about the benin-ore expressway. We all remember the famous words of patrick obahiagbon about this same road. People travelling to the east spent several days on this road cause of its bad state. All that is no more. Those that ply the lagos-ibadan expressway can attest to the quality of work being done. Same goes for many other road projects going on in Nigeria.

3. RAILWAY: most of us chant the change slogan but what does real change mean...there have been massive development in the rail sector. For over 20 years, trains couldn't go from lagos to kano. But under GEJ's administration, d rail lines have been rehabilitated and new coaches now run on the rail lines. From trains that travels at peak speed of 30 km/h, we now have trains that travel at peak speed of 120 km/h. That's wot I call real change.

4. AGRIC, AUTOMOBILE, POWER REFORMS e.t.c a lot has been done in the agric sector. Vehicles are now being assembled in Nigeria. You might say just assembling of vehicles is nothing but that wasn't happening before except maybe when peugeot used to assemle cars in Nigeria. Even the reverred prof. Osinbajo applauded the power reforms and said it is the right way to go.

5. ELECTORAL REFORM: that was the first thing he did. We all know what used to happen before. Massive rigging and all forms of electoral malpractices. Elections we rigged in anambra, ekiti, osun, edo, ondo. But for the first time in this country. Powerful peolple lost re-election. Dimeji bankole, iyabo obasanjo e.t.c didn't return to the national assembly. Y' all can keep shouting about the PVC thing. But we all forgot it was this same electoral reform that brought all these and more.

So peeps, forgetting party affiliations and sentiments, can

we really say GEJ has done nothing? The case of Nigeria can be likened to a very bitter concoction, not just a few cubes of sugar would do.
