Bobbi Kristina Brown is “fighting for her life” two days after she was found unresponsive in a bathtub, according to a statement from her family.

Brown, the 21-year-old daughter of the late Whitney Houston and singer Bobby Brown, was rushed to the hospital early on Saturday after her husband and a friend found her unconscious in a bathtub in her Georgia home and began administering CPR.

While it was initially reported that Brown was stable, the statement sent out Monday said her condition is now life-threatening, Reuters reports.

“Bobbi Kristina is fighting for her life and is surrounded by immediate family,” the Houston family said in a statement. “As her father already stated, we are asking you to honor our request for privacy during this difficult time.”

A source close to Brown’s family told CNN that Brown was placed in a medically induced coma and is now on a ventilator in intensive care. The source told the network that the state of her brain function has not yet been determined because of the sedatives she has been given.

A spokesperson for the Roswell Police Department told Us Weekly that Brown was found facedown in the tub and that no drugs were found out in the open.

Roswell Police did not immediately respond to Mashable‘s request for comment.

The incident occurred just weeks before the third anniversary of Houston’s death. The 48-year-old singer was found dead in the bathtub of a Beverly Hills hotel room on Feb. 11, 2012. The cause of death was determined to be an accidental drowning with heart disease and cocaine use listed as contributing factors.
