Election Postponement Plot Thickens As 16 Minor
Political Parties Endorse Shift Of Election Date,
Threaten Boycott Of Polls.

In a dramatic shift, 16 minor political parties on
Tuesday threw their support behind some calls for
the postponement of Nigeria’s general elections
slated for February.

The parties aligned their argument on the same lines
being presented by pro-Jonathan groups, who fear
they are about to lose the presidency, citing
insecurity and distribution of Permanent Voter Cards
(PVCs).

Although they do not have much to lose in the
process, they threatened to boycott the elections
if their wishes were not heeded.

The parties involved are: the United Democratic
Party (UDP), Citizen Peoples Party (CPP), Peoples
Party of Nigeria (PPN), Action Alliance (AA),
Peoples Democratic Congress (PDC) (ACPN), Labour
Party (LP), (MPPP), United Party of Nigeria (UPN),
Alliance for Democracy (AD), (ADC), (ACD)
Democratic Peoples Party (DPP), New Nigerian
Peoples Party (NNPP) Peoples Party of Nigeria
(PPN) and Independent Democrat (ID).

First, about 50 jobless people sent to 'protest' at INEC office

Then N6 billion to corrupt pastors.

Now, PDP has bought a bunch of largely irrelevant small parties.

N21 billion can buy you a lot of things.

Well done PDP.

Jonathan should know that Nigerians are watching carefully and taking note of every action and reaction this times. Trying to shift election dates by all means easily reeks of desperation and fear. No sane electorate supports a leader that is ready to scuttle protocols and plans just in a bid to hold on to power by every means necessary.

It was obvious he had election date shift in mind when he received John kerry in Nigeria and told him that May 29th is sacrosanct but refused to assure him and Nigerians that the elections will hold on the pre-scheduled dates.

No matter what jonathan does now, Nigerians are far wiser politically than they were a few years back. This games will only work on kids. A rescheduled election will only see the president loose than he normally would in my opinion.

Nigerians want change and a mere shifting of dates cannot stop that. Except there is a plan of election annulment somewhere in the bag, which will most likely result in distasteful circumstances, I foresee a landslide victory for GMB whether the elections hold 14th or Not.

BTW, capital NO to election postponement!!!
