Nigeria international striker, Emmanuel Emenike
has astonishingly declared that his three-month
goal drought was as a result of a curse placed on
him.
Emenike went almost three months without
scoring for Fenerbahçe in Turkey’s Süper Lig and
claims bad luck was to blame for his lack of
proficiency in front of goal.
The Super Eagles attacker told Turkish newspaper,
Milliyet about the situation claiming that
“something is wrong.”
“My energy is not right, something is wrong, I just
need a goal to get back to form,” Emenike said.
The former Spartak Moscow striker subsequently
underwent a ritual called ‘Kur_un Dökme’
apparently to “remove the curse.”
Remarkably Emenike scored his first league goal
since November 2, 2014 shortly after he
reportedly underwent the ‘Kur_un Dökme.’
He netted the winner as Fenerbahçe overcame
Karabükspor at Dr Necmettin Seyhoglu Stadium.
The striker has now netted three league goals this
season.
Emenike had 15 attempts on goal, including
blocked shots, between his second and third
league goals.
