If you thought you knew everything about the General Muhammad Buhari, the APC presidential candidate, we have some shockers for you:

1 General Muhammad Buhari was born in Katsina State as the twenty-third child of his father who died when the General was quite young. He was raised mostly by his mother.

2 He has run unsuccessfully for president of Nigeria three times. 2015 is his fourth attempt at ascending the throne.

3 He is father to ten children, two of whom are deceased.

4 He divorced his first wife, late Hajiya Safinatu for reportedly receiving financial assistance from IBB while he was in prison.

5 In March 1976, the then Head of State, General Olusegun Obasanjo appointed Buhari as the Federal Commissioner (position now called Minister) for Petroleum and Natural Resources.

6 In 1983, when Chadian forces invaded Nigeria in the Borno State, Buhari used the forces under his command to chase them out of the country, crossing into Chadian territory in spite of an order given by then President Shagari to withdraw. This 1983 Chadian military affair led to more than 100 victims and “prisoners of war”. The General does not play apparently.

7 Major-General Buhari was one of the leaders of the military coup of 1983 that overthrew the democratically elected government of President Shehu Shagari.

8 One of the most enduring legacy of the Buhari government has been the War Against Indiscipline (WAI). Launched on March 20, 1984, the policy tried to address the perceived lack of public morality and civic responsibility of Nigerian society.

9 After Buhari’s government was overthrown by Babangida in 1984, he was imprisoned till 1988 in Benin City.

10 He recently survived an apparent Boko Haram assassination attempt Kaduna.

11. Under his tenure as "minister" - in Abacha regime billions of naira went missing.

12. He executed over 80% of all PTF projects in the North.

13. He unfairly tried, imprisoned and even callously killed southern Nigerians disregading international and national outcry eg Fela, Ajasin, Ogendengbe, Owoh et al.

14. He truncated Nigeria's first democracy.

15. He is the only Head of State with no laudable project or legacy

16. He is the only head of state in history who never contributed to education -no free books, no class room blocks, no schools, no universities etc

17. He is the only head of state whose declared "asset" is not a true reflection of his lifestyle-one wonders how he funded his own political party CPC, fund his children education outside the country (his daughter's schiol University of Surrey fees is about 8 million annually) and still " survive with less than 1 million in his account".

18. He did not enlist in the Nigerian army with the required documents-No WASCE certificate only a letter from his principal.......meaning he "runssed" (if such a word exist) his admission.

19. He is the only Head of State up to date that has remain perpetually inelectable (quoting El Rufai)

20. He is the only Head of State who has failed all military exams eg other military generals like IBB, Diya, Idiagbon etc always have PSC, MNI, FSS etc to their names - PSC means Passed Staff College
