Nuezha: And the reason is simple....we all live off oil resources. Innovation and technology we know not (unlike Japan and Germany which have large populations and no oil....though if Japan is sucessful in its fight for some measly islands with China.....). Nigeria is one of world's largest crude exporters, and ironically, is one of world's largest importers of PPs. Yes....we are no 8....but we produce little compared with Saudi and Norway. We also import because we do not have the refining capacity to fill domestic and international quotas. It's easy to cite China as a good example, and play down the responsibility of leadership. Actually...citing China only makes our leadership at all levels bad. Bad in the sense that they refused to invest in technological development(now building car assembly plants is not technological development....designing and building your car from scratch is).And this leadership should have spent more on tech and science....instead of more prestige projects.! |

989900: Yes...and they have the reserves to back them up...plus Qatar and the UAE have diversified economies....and small populations (now oil economies that do well have two things in common...diversified economies and small populations. Nigeria has neither). Now...Saudi is surviving because of their high reserves.(and they could afford to save since they did not have a large population...unlike Nigeria). But if oil prices stay too low...look for the Saudis to suddenly start singing about the benefits of domestic technology. Oil dependent economies look good on paper. Fact is....if the oil price drops...it gets worse. And worse.(Already Venezuela is in serious crisis...and Vladimir Putin of Russia spent the first twenty minutes of a press conference lamenting that he did not diverisfy Russia's economy) 2 Likes |

Nairalanders, note this. There may not be election in this country. If PDP carries out this their devil decision you will see the kind of violence that you have never seen before. Election will not hold. Their may be an Interim Government, whose President will come from SE or NC. There won't be election in this country. |

if this news is true; then i think this GEJ guy is not a master planner at all... if u want to remain in power u must b clean in executing ur plans. GEJ should have removed Jega since after winning his last election and then put his own trust worthy right hand man to head INEC (plz learn from OBJ & Iwu) OR.. Add Jega into his cabal.. there is a way u involve him in various lucrative oil blocks deal & mega contracts;; that he will forever b on ur side..; then also with the military; police chiefs etc.. these and others are wat have been keeping the likes of Biya (Cameroon); Gnassingbe(Togo); Bongo; mukabe (Zimbabwe); etc even Sisi (Egypt); Zuma`s ANC (south Africa) in Power. You dont jst wake up in election year and say u want to remove the head of the election commission... noooo; smart & master minds dont do like that. Just imagine APC the opposition having better control of INEC than the ruling party PDP...I laugh. I heard in Lagos INEC & APC work together to determine who gets PVCs... can u imagine? by now every smart leader who wants to win an election (either by rigging or legal) would have made sure that the Umpire team are part of his secret inner caucus... This is where I respect Tinubu (aka Tinubu)... He is one of the few MASTER MINDERs we have in the country along side IBB. try and read his history from Nadeco to AD to AC then APC GEJ & his PDP team need to wake upppp if they really want to win this 2015... NOTE I support neither PDP nor APC.. just a free thinker |

freshness2020:of course this is one of the symptoms of cluelessness he wants to display and not smartness. Elections are made for the governed to make their choice between the ruling party and the oppositions and not to return an incumbent (in this case a clueless one). If the incumbents are bent on retaining power, there will be no need for an election in the 1st place. So, stop been clueless like ur oga at the top. |

jorlons:For your mind abi? And those liking and sharing your post, go check out all the Arab countries involved in the Arab Spring and you will know how far! If you are from the South Eastern part of the country, ask questions about what happened during the civil war if you were not born then. Shey their children and family will take part in the 'Revolution and Civil War' you guys are squaring up for? Let's give our selves brain! Growth in democracy and economy is no magic, it takes time! Jona may not be performing at the desired level and rate, but he is a lesser evil than Buhari and APC! 1 Like |

drkay: What's undemocratic about it? It is the practice in civil service to go on leave, three months before your retirement. You no read am? I laugh. Never underestimate the power of incumbency. GEJ can remove not only Jega, but postpone the election again and still rig it. You wanna know the truth? Nothing will happen. People will die. I mean idiots. None of the actors will lose nothing. My advice to both supporters of APC and PDP, is to avoid dying for any stupid and selfish politician. Keep your life while you got it. Say no to thuggery. 1 Like |

delta234: Tell all these to GEJ not me. He is the one preparing the country for a revolution or civil war. As for him being your choice because you see him as a saint well thats your choice and opinion. GEJ shouldn't try to be smart. If he feels he has done alot of transformation as president then he must stay clear from the umpire INEC and wait for the majority of Nigerians to decide his fate @ the polls on the 28th of March. |

I would have blamed GEJ/PDP initially, but since it's now clear that the war game is to take over ASO ROCK by the all means, then GEJ must also do everything he can to retain the power. Afterall, it's all about returning power to the North, the Apc started the game, PDP must not sleep. Nigerian citizens interest is now secondary. 1 Like |

Frankiss44: GEJ presents himself for public service, therefore he must be opened to criticism and abuse from people. I know you have never been saddled with responsibilities of leadership. Now that you are the mouthpiece of clueless incompetence Mr GEJ, I have one advice for you, go and ask your mother the reasons why you are this dull, uncultured, stupid, brainless and idiotic, she would probably have an answer to those. 2 Likes |
