Singer-songwriter and activist from Benin Republic Angélique Kidjo wore this lovely African print to the Grammy Awards in LA yesterday Feb. 8th where she won her 2nd Grammy for 'World Music Album' for her album, "Eve". The 54 year old dedicated the award to the women of Africa. "This album is dedicated to the women of Africa -- to their beauty and resilience. Women of Africa -- you rock!. For me, music is a weapon of peace, and today more than ever, as artists we have a role to play in.the stability of this world," Kidjo said as she accepted the award at a ceremony in LA. Hmmm... What a modest woman who is never ashamed of where she came from (Africa), to think that was her second Grammy award shows she had been in d industry for long and still doing well. Give our "mgbeke" female celebs the same opportunity and see the cleavage, hips and curves exposing dresses they'll wear  , that's if they won't have to perform for cleaners and stage decorators first. |
