Covenant University has been ranked the best university in Nigeria and the fifteenth best in Africa by Webometrics. They uprooted Obafemi Awolowo University from the first spot before displacing ten other Universities to climb to 15th in Africa. They also went upwards, climbing from 2075th in the july world ranking to 1401st in the January rankings. This is in line with the school's vision to be ranked among the ten best universities in te world in ten years time. The school is relatively the youngest institution in the list, being barely thirteen years. The school, as usual, attributed their unusual success to the hand of God in the in the institution.
