IS YOUWIN TRUE? IS THE FG PROJECT ACHIEVING RESULTS?

Based on reports from YouWiN newsletters 1,2,3 and 4, the programme has successfully created thousands of jobs through their awardees. However, critics of this fact have published their grievances in Twitter chat; and this was published in the newspaper, stating that Okonjo-Iweala’s YouWin project, a failure – Graduates.

None of these aggrieved individuals is an awardee of YouWiN!

One of them claim that,

The success story of YouWiN as branded by the Federal Government has not been “awesome.” He noted that the online-powered business competition appeared as if the authorities were “flushing huge sums of money down the toilet.”

The combined success rate of the businesses funded by the scheme was less than five per cent, and the Federal Ministry of Finance should review the selection criteria for the winners.

He said, “I have been tracking YouWin winners for a while and facts indicate that only five per cent of the beneficiaries start up companies. In fact, some of the winners take trips abroad and spend the funds as if they just won a lottery.

I am a proud YOUWIN awardee,and so many of us are NairalanderS. As a matter of fact, I got to know about YOUWIN application here on Nairaland. So many posts like yours have been posted here and we have come to testify. Do go to the main YOUWIN competition threads in this business section of Nairaland where people discuss the application process and eventually confirm when they win or not.
