I wrote this piece during last year's valentine and it didn't get the expected attention. sad

I hope it does now, enjoy cheesy

Kweku had just finished a movie titled "Lover's Val". It was a new movie starring Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, two of Hollywood's best. A perfect combination one would say.
He stretched lazily yawning at intervals with hunger taking its toll on him. Still watching the credits roll by, Kweku reflected on the scenes in the movie and wished Atuwaye was laying next to him.
He still saw himself as the envy of the neighbourhood having won the heart of Atuwaye. A feat many had tried and failed. Atuwaye, no doubt, was the most beautiful damsel in Kwaku community. Her beauty had sometime in the past caught the attention of the village head's son before he went AWOL. This kept many away from her since no one wanted to fall a victim of Akatu's wrath. He was well known for protecting violently whatever he desired till he took full possession of it but Atuwaye's case constituted a pain in the neck to him. The heart of Atuwaye had so far eluded him but he's ready to eliminate any who as much as said a "hi" to her with him nearby. So much aura of pride and terror followed him everywhere he went.
Kweku dared the dance with the devil and seem to have earned the applause of the audience or did he just take the advantage of Akatu being behind bars? Whichever it was, he seemed to be enjoying favour's smile while it lasted.
The thoughts of having Atuwaye by one's side alone was enough to make a guy reach orgasm. Kweku relished doing this anytime he felt the urge but there seemed to be an image interferring with his thoughts this day. It was Sandra's. An ex before he met with Atuwaye. The day marked three years since they've been apart but the pain the relationship brought him was still somewhere within him.
Sandra was his love for three years before he met Atuwaye later on. She was another paragon of beauty on her own. Somehow, Kweku had always enjoyed winning the hearts of the most sought after girls in the community. This probably could be credited to his command of English language coupled with the British accent that flowed through the lines of every sentence he spat out. Even a guy would turn gay hearing him speak. Sandra had just returned from the States when they met. She had that cool personality that hid the real her from any who decided to nose-dive into a relationship with her. Having had so many escapades in the States, Sandra hardly had any soft feel left for a guy talk more of a local from Kwaku.
She was taken away by the same charm Kweku used on his admirers. She accepted his proposals but with her mission best known to her. They had everything going on well with them until Kweku saw her with his best friend at Kwame's Resort dining together. He at first saw it as an innocent outing not until he started noticing the constant call histories between them on her phone. Being the gentleman that he was, he calmly approached her with the question of what was going on between them. Her response was aggressive so he played it calm so as not to raise unnecessary dust in their relationship. This unholy union lasted for a while until the third Valentine's Day into their relationship.
They had both agreed on an outing to a newly opened resort in a nearby community. A day before Val, Sandra called him to tell him her monthly visitor just came calling. This made a mathematician out of Kweku who hated anything that had to do with calculations.
"But you aren't expecting your flow now, at least not until twelve days from today," he replied.
She pretended not to have heard what he said and switched off her phone. Kweku tried reaching her all day but to no avail. Foolishly he concluded she probably wanted to surprise him.
On the following day, Val's day, Kweku sent Sandra a message that didn't go through. He tried reaching her but didn't pull through. This got him so worried that he decided to pay her a surprise visit since the suspense she was putting him through was no longer getting funny. The reception he got at the gate to where she resided was worse than what a stray cat would get from a kennel of dogs. He felt shocked and really bad. He tried her phone once again and despite the mellifluent voice that announced the non availability of the number, all he heard was "bla bla bla and bla". Turning back to go home, Kweku decided to call his best friend, at least someone to find solace in. He was greeted with the same response from the other end of the line. Frustrated, he decided to retire to his crib to freshen up before thinking on what next to do. As he trudged slowly back to his house he wondered, what could have happened to her? Why was her phone switched off? Why did Akpetu, his best friend, switch off his phone too? He ended up asking himself close to a hundred questions before getting home.

After a quick shower and meal, Kweku decided to make the best use of the rest of the day by hanging out with Akpetu, that was if he was lucky to meet him at home. On his way to Akpetu's house, he decided to pop and say hi to Pokwa, a friend of Sandra, maybe she could have a clue on the whereabouts of Sandra. Getting to her apartment, Kweku knocked at the gate but there was no response. He noticed the gate wasn't bolted so he pushed it open and the gate responded. He walked towards her apartment and heard a sweet female voice singing from the bathroom window. "It must be Pokwa's", he concluded. He decided to wait by the door to her sitting room when from the little opening from the door he saw what looked like a n*ked Sandra running around the room with another familiar face in pursuit. He shook the funny thought off but his curiousity was further aroused when he heard Sandra's voice telling the guy that they had better move inside before Pokwa or anybody else came in.
At first his heartbeat raced six times faster than the normal then the skips came in. He almost lost consciousness but a force accelerated his feet and he found himself in the room. Getting inside the room, it took him close to five seconds before he was able to get a clear sight. He saw no one in the sitting room but could have sworn he heard Sandra's voice. He turned to go out when he bumped into Pokwa who lost grip of the towel around her waist to reveal her endowments.
"What are you doing here? Sandra's not here! You can't be here!" were the words that came out from a rather confused Pokwa who scrambled to get her towel. Kweku's mind read "insufficient memory" and needed formatting immediately. He got confused on which file to either retain, delete and send to the recycle bin or delete permanently. In the melee that ensued in his mind, one thing was certain, he had heard Sandra's voice. Then came a confirmation. He began to hear moans from the inner room. He shifted his gaze away from Pokwa's curves to her face. In a swift response she moved towards the door from which the moans were coming and begged him to leave.
That was the impetus he needed. He moved towards the door but Pokwa opened her hands on both ends of the doorframe to bar him from entering. A funny thought came to him as he tried to play things calmly. A little tap on her towel and it fell off. As she dropped down to pick her towel up the unexpected happened.
