DaBullIT: Same way US came to Nigeria with guise to find Chibok girls and nothing came out of it, or same way we begged them for Ebola medicine to cure our female medical specialist (Her soul rest in peace) and they refused to, but thank God Nigeria survived Ebola without their help. GEJ tried and all the good people of Nigeria, the honourable health Minister and all health workers and the disease was contained. US should stay out of Nigeria politics for now! we don't want any political Ebola, we are matching forward and we will arrive. 1 Like |

The Nigerian government was supposed to hold presidential elections this past weekend, which presented voters with the dispiriting choice of keeping a lousy incumbent or returning to power a former autocratic leader. Now they will have to wait at least six weeks to cast votes. These people are wicked. Technically Jona is lousy, whilst GMB is autocratic. Hilarious though. 1 Like |

Chiaka: Don't believe the lies you are told by politically compromised elements. Think for yourself. An analytically independent mind is one of the greatest gift anyone can possess. The USA came to Nigeria to find an army with many 'enemies within' frustrating the fight against Boko Haram and the effort to rescue the Chibok girls. Which modern and well-run Nation will work with such duplicity and deceit? As per the Ebola drug ZMAPP, it was experimental and the USA, as much as you may not see it, had valid reason to deny giving Nigeria the drug. Firstly , the efficacy of the drug is not fully verified and then there is the reality that it takes a long time to even produce a small dose. Should the USA give Nigeria the small amount it has when that may be required to treat their own citizens in the near future and under a fast-moving disease-spread situation? Also, the drug was not FDA approved which is a big thing in the West as per suitability for use on human beings. It is generally deemed irresponsible to administer drugs which are not FDA approved. The most stunning thing, illustrating that Africans derelict their duty, is that you do not seem to face the fact that Ebola, as a disease localised to West Africa, is an African problem and thus requiring African solutions. There was an Ebola epidemic in the past. You do not ask why Africans themselves did not deem it fit to develop suitable therapies and treatment for a deadly scourge capable of decimating the continent. Instead you attack the USA that took the time and proactive effort to develop a drug for a disease localised to a continent far away from them. With unreasonable minds, never appreciative of the notion that "charity begins at home", most nations in Africa will never develop. When we begin looking to solve our own problems, while understanding that others owe us nothing, we will make progress. http://www.ibtimes.co.uk/ebola-us-refuses-nigerias-request-zmapp-drug-1460240 Ebola: US Refuses Nigeria's Request for ZMapp Drug 2 Likes |

kaeycea: Funny how all writers of the finest and most reliably prestigious news-sources worldwide are now "hired" because they are critical of the leadership and electoral chances of GEJ. Same thing was said by GEJ fans when the economist endorsed Buhari. The 'almighty' APC is now compromising the entire Universe to think and talk against Jonathan. Comical. 2 Likes |

Chiaka: Guise ? ? ? Before thier arrival they told you that Sambisa is BH's base , US wasn't trying to face terrorists one by one , they went for the head, the snitches and the loyalists, 1 week of arrival they linked Ranked military officers , petty soldiers and even Politicians to B.H after which Jona told the US he is no longer interested in US's support anymore Your Medical Specialist ? ? ? That's crappy talk , USA wasn't going to let your country use a drug they were yet to test, as a matter of fact , there were Americans and Europeans who were infected but they never got the Vaccine, Nigeria was not singled out . USA has more experience than when your ancestors signed the contract to have a country called Nigeria, you should listen to reason furthermore , every ideas or subject was someone's experience, you can't teach what you haven't lived through Listen to people who have made their country better, don't be blinded by failed promises from PDP 2 Likes |

DaBullIT: So a past dictator that truncated a democratic government years back should rule right? I don't see any good he holds for Nigeria * I have never seen any school built in his name. * I have never seen any borehole constructed by him. * There is no record of any scholarship awarded by him or for him nor through him. * I have never seen him use his popularity to canvass for any charitable work nor any humanitarian effort, not even at the height of the polio scourge where other purposeful and prominent leaders lead the campaign for immunization. * No single text book has been donated to any school either by him, for him or through him. * Asides from doing nothing, he has not improved himself since his exit from office. * No book written, no memoirs, no lectures, nothing. * The only thing of note he can point to are his numerous interviews on the BBC Hausa station. * He never champion for a university in his state nor has he ever been involved in any kind of programme to better the lives of the Almajiris in Daura. * His entire existence has not lead to any meaningful development in Daura, yet they say he can change Nigeria. Doesn't charity begin at home again? * No wonder he was referred to as being ''perpetually unelectable''. * He is not a patron to any organization, group or association. * No professional body in Nigeria has ever invited him for their lecture, convention or gala night. * The only time any known form, body or human assemblage ever chose him to do anything for them was when the Boko Haram terrorist sect nominated him as their spoke person in the proposed talks with the Fed. Govt. He recently joined twitter because of elections. At 72 what does he have to offer? I need change we all need change but Gen Buhari isn't the answer! |

Unnecessary interference in our democracy. This is the same country that refused to sell equipments to us to enable us combat bokoharam effectively. It is my hope that GEJ would win this election and put them to shame. You cannot love Nigeria more than Nigerians. Gbawe: |

All I can see is that the same group of socialists that sold America the Obama dummy are working hard to sell another closet jihadist to Nigeria. Their ploy will fail. We will resist this attempt to turn back our recent gains with extreme ferocity. If anyone is in any doubt about the true aims of Obama and his friends, they should visit Libya today and see the "paradise", Obama's allies in Al Aqaeda and ISIS are building there in the aftermath of Qaddafi's demise. For the unaware and the simply oblivious, Axelrod's firm was Obama's campaign manager and they are managing Apeeshit and Buhari. They're also responsible for all these baseless stories. |
Re: New York Times Slams President Jonathan by Chiaka(f): 1:35pm On Feb 17, 2015 |
theM16: All these problems have long been in Nigeria before GEJ so don't know what you really mean. I agree he hasn't sold all of it. But Nigeria was already in a pretty bad stage prior to his coming and its not going to happen over night. Worst still since after GMB lost election in 2011 with a threat that Nigeria will be ungovernoble whether he did say that or not but there are pictures of him talking and instigating northern youths to riot, killing many in the after math and soon after Boko Haram became from violent in the north. No one who is a true advocate of change and loves Nigeria and Nigerians as a whole will go that far. |

But greedy corrupt and clueless is the transformer? Obj was a military ruler why aren't you screaming OBJ? Gmb has had several years to see the errors of the past, his integrity is irrefutable and he has teamed up with people with plans GEJ is a power hungry scum of the earth, arrogant and immature, he hasn't learnt anything because he thinks he's the ALL Father of Nigeria, if he looses this election, by the next one he would have drawn a better plan and using soldiers indiscriminately is dictatorship in civilian camouflage Chiaka: |

theM16: ....and you think GMB can bring that change. . Maybe might stop boko, because he is their man. After all they ones picked him to negotiate on their behalf. As for transforming Nigeria Nope. What GMB fought in his 18 months of rule was 'war against Indiscipline' and not corruption. Whereby soldiers were all over town terrorising, embarrassing and flogging grown ups for not queue, even children were not left out. I was then in primary school. Perhaps you were not born then. People were living in fear and terror. That's not leadership but terrorism. He fought corruption by forcefully accusing and terrorising innocent politicians. I remember the case of pa Awolowo. and for the 18 months he ruled before he was ousted by a coup, the same way he gained power, no economic milestone was achieved in Nigeria by him. So I wonder what magic you think he will perform. |
