MuguliciousMUGU: Do you really mean ONLY JONATHAN? That is an insult on 180m Nigerians. I dont have any problem with your belief in him. But please, dont insult Nigerians by saying ONLY JONATHAN. |

ba7man:see jonathan see trouble ooo.....so now,it's the issue of affordabilty and not the issue of creating jobs for the teaming youths.you want Nigeria to be like US and you still want the gov't to manufacture cars and give you for free.go tell your poor gmb that if nigerian is runned that way that way, then we are heading for a mishap as a country. 1 Like |

GhaliNaaba: you are as ridiculous as your name sounds....when embarking on a journey, don't you start 4rm somewhere.. This development will have a significant decrease on the import of cars. It is also an invitation to other stakeholders to mount their plants here in the country, thereby boosting GDP, creating employment, reducing inflation and curbing currency devaluation.. The assemblage of these cars and their import which is more expensive?? Ur problems is you're too daft to see how this devt reduces capital expenditure.. You wud embrace this devt if u understood dat Nigeria runs an import-driven economy also not 4getting the devaluation of the naira... What we need is to steer up our manufacturing sector however possible and reduce importation and unecessary inflation. The manufacturing of capital goods will follow suit easlily.. You are an INGRATE for shouting dat ur retrogressive 'change' here, afta seeing this and a whole lot of oda tins... 2 Likes |

slap1: My fear is that these vehicles will end up being bought by government as official fleets making the survival based on the government hence if government sneezes the company catches cold. Peugeot closed down was non patronage for its biggest customer the government what is the guarantee of sustainability of the likes of these vehicle producers as they are more or less repeating history as Peugeot did what guarantee do we have of their survival in. Say 20 years? I would have love to see vehicles in the range of 1-2million naira or possibly a motor payment plan at low interest, I would prefer a the vehicles to be low cost than mortgage plan as it will boost our export and truth be told if the average Nigerian can't afford it our neighbouring countries can't too. This is a legacy of GEJ I suggest that he articulates it well to make it a legend to posterity. |

Martins301: please don't get it wrong. The government don't produce cars. What the government simply did was to make and enforce an automotive policy ( i.e placing the horse before the cart) in which attracted these investments in the sector and thereby creating jobs. The world is a global place, Cars can not be produced to be sold only in country of production. You are not to carry out feasibility study for the people that sunk billions in these investments, they must have carried out their feasibility study and also put the factors you mentioned, such as power into consideration before thinking of production. Be as it may, it is a policy that is yielding a positive result. What makes you think that the cost of production in those countries you mentioned are cheaper than Nigeria. Politicians don't live by their words same with Buhari, have you forgotten when he said he would not contest for election again? same with GEJ when he said he would not seek a second term. Don't also forget that Buhari had ruled Nigeria before, what economic policy did he introduce(he introduced barter in the oil sector) or rather what was his achievement then, what and what can you point at that he did as head of state . He has great achievements when being given a job to carry out but as a head of state........ Did you say integrity? A man who refer to human beings as baboon and also called for them to be soaked in their blood as integrity? that refuse to obey tribunal judgement which he himself set up as integrity? that decide to kill people who committed an offense when the offense was not carrying death sentence has integrity. Does integrity have a different meaning? You may say you believe Buhari is better than GEJ, but for some GEJ is better than Buhari, it is all about choice. please politicians would always be politicians when somebody has done something let him have the credit. 1 Like |

[color=#000099]I was and am still much amazed about this. A govt given to being a bad and corrupt govt is making our economy to boom this way. I don't just know how I felt seeing this. I hope those in the mechanical sector and others will be gainfully employed. God bless Nigerians, God bless Gej. |

oshaosha2014:How can the companies ensure sales to keep themselves running and paying employees when people aren't financially well off to afford their vehicles in d right numbers?? If this current dollar slide continues, people will loose their jobs and pay cuts will be rife. Try selling brand new cars to that lot. You strengthen an economy, increase rate of employment and raise average wages before poaching brand new cars to the populace. |
