The Ndi Eze Igbo and Igbo Leaders of Thought in the 19 northern states and Abuja, have reaffirmed their support for the re-election of President Goodluck Jonathan. The reaffirmation was contained in a communiqué signed by Eze Nwosu Ibe, Eze Ndigbo Abuja and President, Association of Ndieze-Igbo N’uzoije Nigeria and Diaspora; and Eze Pampas Nwahiwe, Eze Ndi-Igbo Minna and Coordinator, Ogbako Ndieze-Igbo 19 northern states and Abuja and made available to Daily Sun in Abuja at the end of their meeting. The Ndi Eze Igbo and Igbo Leaders of Thought said after exhaustive deliberations on the state of the nation and other matters, they have re-affirmed their support in line with the earlier decision of Ohanaeze Ndigbo worldwide taken in Enugu to endorse President Goodluck Jonathan for re-election. The body also re-affirmed their unflinching support and loyalty to the present leadership of the apex body of the Igbo socio-cultural group, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, led by Chief Gary Enwo-Igariwey. The Ndi Eze Igbo and Igbo Leaders of Thought also called on President Jonathan to provide effective security for all Nigerians, especially those living outside their states of origin, before, during and after the 2015 elections. Part of the communiqué read: “We appeal to the President, Federal Republic of Nigeria, to, as a matter of necessity, provide effective security for all Nigerians, especially those living outside their states of origin, before, during and after the 2015 general elections.” “We call on all Ndigbo in the 19 northern states and Abuja who have not collected their Permanent Voters Cards (PVC) to endeavour to do so before the expiration of the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) deadline for the exercise. 2 Likes |
