The IJMBE is essentially an Advance Level Examination and scholarship program except for only two subjects offered at the ordinary level, for student with deficiencies in Mathematics and English.

A candidate is required to obtain a minimum of 5 or 8 points out of possible 15 points to qualify for university admission at 200 level.
