The most sensible message ever from sahara reporters.

I keep saying this.

Nairaland has 1million users
less than half are active
nigeria has 140million people
less than 1percent of nigerians are in nairaland.
So nairaland isnt a true reflection of who wins april election.

Do you know what they call sample Population in statistics.

Nairaland and any social media is a mini Nigeria with a bias towards GEJ cos the large number of people on social media are from SW,SE and SS the little from the north are mostly the educated Christians and a few muslims.

Large percentage of GMB supporters are majorly the Northerners with little or no knowledge if the internet. Is it the mai shayis, kiosk mallams and all these Ab0k! Okada riders that you want to tell me own a facebook account.

For GEJ on the other hand, even a typical Igbo man inside Ladipo spare parts market has at least a facebook page.

Still with this bias, GMB is still thumping GEJ. Wake up.

This thread has told the truth and nothing but the whole truth. There is no pdp supporters who will not open admit that apc's method of propaganda has no comparison. It takes a very strong and determination to somehow withstand apc media propaganda. Take myself for example, I trust myself when it comes to finishing up people, when it comes to very sharp and bad mouth, yet it is no joke to hold down apc. Seriously, apc is the most powerful and winners of the 2015 election if elections were won through media propaganda.
if the defection of Tambowel, the Buhari certificate forgery case and others had happened or were carried out by pdp, my good God, apc would have organised protect matches across the entire human race. Infact Chatham is damn to small for apc's protest rallies. That is why it is very correct and generally accpted that EMPTY DRUM sounds more that anything.
Apc knows that Buhari is sick, cannot truly do well in this election but if you do not know Buhari as person, apc will tell you FFK is the same age group with Buhari. A very terrible group of people.

Lol true.. Even the 'less than half active users' have double or even triple monikers, which even accounts for the active users.

Social media are very useful in gauging the pulse of a section of the country. If not 100% accurate, it must surely be within 60 to 70 percent accuracy.

60-70!!
Well not in Nigeria

Wrong. The social media depicts the feelings of most Nigerians. Though there are many paid party members blogging and engaging the social media to create an impression of support for their paymasters, you still find that what is happening online is mostly the feeling of the people on ground. In fact, statistically, if you can get 2% of Nigerians (3 million) predict the election, it is a very excellent statistical measure of the feeling of the populace.

Election in Tunisia is d election in Nigeria

Social media engineered the arab revolution. Excerpts:

"In countries like Egypt, Tunisia, and Yemen, rising action plans such as protests made up of thousands, have been organized through social media such Facebook and Twitter. “We use Facebook to schedule the protests” an Arab Spring activist from Egypt announced “and [we use] Twitter to coordinate, and YouTube to tell the world.”

This is a very nice topic. I wonder why it was removed from the front page. It's better and more informative dan all those other entertainment gossip on the fp dat dont add anything to someone's life of knowledge. Mods explain. Where is Afam4eva, OAM4J, Ikenna351, maclatunji, Ngwakwe?
