Although this post is coming late because many candidates preparing to write the university entrance examination and subsequent Post Jamb examination will surely benefit from it. Also there is some take for individuals in Nigeria anticipating a career change in 2015 and beyond.

There is nothing wrong with having passion in doing a job that pays less but in an idea world and especially in Nigeria, most people will choose a career that is rewarding and at the same time fulfilling.

The recent demand for higher education in Nigeria due to the limited space in our institutions of higher learning has necessitated the habit of getting admission irrespective of the program/course on offer.

Some people will argue that they will not wait for years before they will get admitted in their course of choice rather they will prefer to take any course so far it can lend to being a university student.

The downside of such a decision is so or later you will graduate from the program and you will face the job market with a qualification with a discipline that does not produce a job vacancy in Nigeria job sector.

This can favor those that are well connected because with their connection they can get a job in areas that do not related with their course of studies.

If you don't have a strong network or family connection that will make getting a job after graduation easy for you, in addition you only have a qualify with no extra skills it is better you reconsider you course of study now or you will end up trying to look for a business to do after you must have graduated from the university.

There is no special way to figure out what is the current and future jobs in Nigeria but if you are following trends in Nigeria job market you will come to the realization that some sectors are hotter than others.

Irrespective of the profession you choose, the key to success is to work hard and differentiate yourself in a unique way from others so that it will make getting your dream job a breeze when you are out of the university.

Now lets quickly go through the list of the hottest programs to study in Nigeria in 2015

1. 2D and 3D Graphics Design

2. Brand Management and Visual Communication

3. Tourism and Hospitality Management

4. Computer Science / Software Developer

5. Marketing

6. Industrial Engineering

7. Network and System Administration

8. Sales Representative

9. Content Curator and Strategist

10. Security (Online and Offline)

11. Psychology

12. Civil Engineering

13. Mechanical Engineering

14. Make-up and Skin care specialist

15. Electrical Engineering

If there is any program / course that was omitted from this list and you feel it should be added, kindly use our comment box to let us know and also tell us why you think is a hotter profession.

Heheeehe ;

Engineering is a scam In this country, do u know the number of unemployed engineering grads?.

Coren isn't even helping, what is their work? What training programs and scheme do they have for young engineers.

Urs truly graduated with a very good grade in Civil eng.
Cm Bk frm service since last year no job, with all my plenty skills.

The only good tin about engineering, especially Civl eng. is the entrepreneurship aspect, "I still d handle jobs here and there", look at my signature. I don't have paid employment yet in a firm, which I really need cuz of field experience for large projects but I'm not broke, u won't hear that I packed my car cuz I don't hv gas.

If you want easy access to fast employment ; MEDICINE is the surest way.

I repeat MEDICINE and SURGERY
ur case is lyk dat of a man who has two legs but decides to use a wheelchair...

My dear brother, who told u these courses R useless? These courses made America great b4 the 20th century, talk abt agricultural reforms. Holland made a name tru agricultural extensions based on these courses. It is jst so sad Nigeria depends on crude to grow its economy.
Crude oil is black gold, agriculture is green gold. I didn't study agriculture, I did foreign languages, majoring in French n Spanish, then I backed up the degree with various professional courses, n one of'em in a course in d growth n management of d agric sector tru foreign investment. N am been courted by d bank of industry to act as a middle man wit french investors, though things R slow, but I'm optimistic.

So bru if u hv d opportunity to study any of the courses u mentioned above, be proud, cos one day they'll need ur expertise.

Many thanks n God bless.

They are not useless courses, its because you dnt have a serious govt thats why you think so,in other contries there are jobs for those courses, thats why they have less unemployed graduates.
