Good day my beautiful people of God, please i need help ooo, Does anybody here have a sister whose mummy's sister in law's friend has had a good birthing experience in New Jersey, Spent the whole of last night calling random doctors and hospitals and its not funny at all. An average doctor is quoting 5k while an average hospital is quoting about same...this excludes all other fees. I'm thinking of paying all those Agents to help me look for, but that should not be heard with a wonderful e-family like this. grin I have paid for my flight but still don't have a hospital. please help with suggestions oo. Thank you in advance

Evening people,
Based on experience, i will contribute my quota, i had my baby at Providence hospital in Washignton DC last year september. At Providence all international patients without insurance must make an initial deposit of 12k dollars, now the catch is you will get a 50% discount on your total bill if you register with them before delivery, as compared to the option of waiting at home till labour starts and you call 911, when taken to the hospital they will still attend to you but whatever bill they give you will be without discount. After delivery (normal delivery) i did get a refund of about 1000 dollars, and a letter from the hospital stating i was not owing them. the bill covered anti natal up to nursery and 2 nights stay at the hospital after birth. the hospital will give you everything you need for after childbirth, so you dont even need to pack a bag, even up to pant.

Time to close from work as i am still doing exclusive breast feeding.will log in back to this topic at home and hope i can help someone with my information.

Women and bickering! Tell them to dig it out physically now and you see them throwing soft pillows at each other. Una like quarrel pass fight sha!

To the matter at hand: the IDEAL thing is to get the consent form notarised at the US embassy AFTER the baby is born. And no other info should be added afterwards. The seal used to cost $50, but recently, its been free.

However, some old mamas decided to test the waters by notarising at The High Court or even with a private law firm with authority to notarise. They found that most passport agencies accepted this. The advantage of this is that you can notarise the form before the baby is born and travel with it, leaving out the dates, which should be inputed after baby is born.

This is to enable one quickly apply for baby's passport immediately after birth without having to wait for hubby to do same at the embassy with all the protocol of booking appointment etal. And for the records, this method (notarising BEFORE baby is born and adding dates afterwards) is NOT very legal. Some passport agencies accept it, some don't. Find out what obtains wherever you are headed.

Now that I've given the "history" of notarisation, can y'all stop the "pillow" fights? Tenkue!
Pls sweet mamas in the house. I need an answer here. Should wifey tell them at the embassy that she wants to give birth in US? If no, how did u people manage do am? Thanks.

I travelled at 31weeks cos Its twins. The tests were divided Into two. Had them on two different appointments and the results were sent to me through mail.
I had a total of 7 appointments. Every week until last week which was the last.
The glucose test takes an hour. Every other thing is short. 5 mins tops if u don't meet lots of people at d lab

You're joking abi? or you mistakenly stumbled on this thread. People have been taught how to avoid agents here, its Do - It - Yourself all the way to the embassy - POE - US hospital and finally back to naija with your American baby(ies).

Bbaby84 at least we know now know that some states accept the ones from either the embassy or a notary public or a court and some states accept strictly embassy notarized forms and it is better to ask so as to be on the safe side
no

Hello everyone
If i may ask, Pls which one is accepted in Dallas Texas? From notary public or from embassy?

Hello my people, Please a quick question to those who wrote letter to the embassy, Please what was your means of writing to the the embassy?
Email or letter by post? Please also if you can help with address to the means used. Awaiting response pleasee. Thanks.
Hi moms to be, this is my first post on nairaland as i am also a first timer. I didnt know one could write a letter to the embassy for change of intent of travel plans. I had my visa interview in oct 2014 n was asked by the v.o my intent of travel.told vo for vacation.she asked if i was planning on giving birth , i said if it comes. The vo then said if i was,i shouldnt apply for memedicaidr any govt aid.i said sure That i would be responsible For any payment then.she gives me a 2yrs visa.At poe in houston in jan, the immigration officers asked my duration of stay, hubby says 3months..n he gave me 6months without asking if i was for delivery blah blah....my question is will this affect me when im coming back to the usa or when i want to apply for another visa cos im like if i knew about the letter stuff i would have notified the embassy prior travel.I would greatly appreciate responses.

My dear sista, i have been busy reading all ur post from 1 to 54. I really learnt many things. Biko help me with these questions.
1. How much was in ur husband's account and in ur own account. I have about 3.2 million in my account and 1.6 million in my wife's account. We are both working in my company(registered).
2. In her passport, she bears the same surname with me. Do we still need to provide change of name and sworn affidavit and newspaper confirmation?
Both of us are planing to go. Is it ok if i go for the interview?
3. How do i get the contact of the doc. That helped to send u the appointment letter. Thank u so much.
