OGUN :- Chief Segun Adesegun, the deputy governor of Ogun State gives reasons why he and others left his principal behind in the APC. By Dapo Akinrefon, Charles Kumolu and Gbenga Oke I happened to have been the National Youth Leader for like eight years before I was elevated to be the deputy national treasurer of the Action Congress of Nigeria. So I was in a position to know everything that took place before Senator Amosun got into power. It was not that he was invited into the party, he appealed through different sources and all the meetings to ensure that he became governor were held in my house at Ogudu. •Adesegun: Amosun does not allow fair play As at that time, we had 11 members of ACN contesting governorship and Senator Obadara was one of them but because of our enthusiasm in the belief that using him will be more strategic and the fact that two of our leaders actually appealed that with some outsiders coming in, doing that will be very strategic. And actually, all the candidates that stepped down for him, we tried to make sure they got one or two things before we could sail through his own candidature. But a lot of outsiders have this impression that he made us when actually it is the other way round. Comparable analysis The impression he was giving that he has won election and they rigged him out, the truth is that it was all propaganda. He contested in 2007 and he told the public that he won. Here is a man who claimed he won but had no one honorable, he did not win a simple councillor ship and he said he won the governorship. I am just using that as a comparable analysis for people to know that the idea that he has won before actually did not take place. In my own local government which is Ijebu North where Senator Kaka also comes from, in 2007, the party that Amosun was in then, ANPP, had only 480 votes. When we joined and asked him to be our gubernatorial candidate, we now moved to 23,000 votes. This actually shows you how we gave him the votes and that is the truth. And
we provided him our own infrastructure, our own party agents and others. We have been there from during the SDP, and SDP was not just by mere circumstances, it is an offshoot of Bisi Onabanjo handing over to Chief Olusegun Osoba, and it was the same party that became Alliance for Democracy, (AD). So we had our structures well on ground in the 236 wards of Ogun State and we provided him that structure, all the presiding officers and party agents are our men. The truth was that when he now became Governor, not a single one of them were given any position, he was giving his own ANPP. What we have done so far is to withdraw our own carpet from the former ACN, so we have removed all our men. Governor Ibikunle Amosun and Prince Segun Adesegun You may find one or two with him but I can tell you we have removed about 95 percent of our men but when politicians go around carrying a lot of crowd, it gives the impression that he is acceptable everywhere but it is when the elections come that we will know who is on ground. Asides that, quite a lot of policies of the
government are anti democratic, and if we had continued, we would have lost
elections with him all together. I want to give an example. When Bisi Onabanjo was governor of Ogun State, he chose his secretary to the government from Yewa, commissioner of works in Egba. It was the same structure that Chief Osoba also used. Chief Osoba being an Egba person, the SSG was from Yewa, the commissioner for works was myself from Ijebu. In the coming of this Amosun government, the governor is from Central, the SSG is from Central, the commissioner for works is from Central, commissioner for finance, he mixed partly because of marriage, he has the Odeda connection. So the structure itself is most undemocratic, he does not allow fair play and commissioners were not properly distributed. All these were part of the issues we think does not project fairness in any democratic setting. These are factors that were on ground before our final break away. So people need to know, anywhere the governor is, there is always a crowd, so the fact that crowd is following you everywhere does not necessarily mean you are on ground.→ www.vanguardngr.com

I wonder why this guy sound so bitter, this is another reason why things don't work in this country, the region you come from take precedence over your capabilities...

Following the guys logic, if the governor is from ijebu then his commissioners must come from abeokuta and the likes not minding how capable the commissioner is, in doing his job...

Sadly this same ugly scenario plays out from federal level to state level down to local government level, no wonder we have so many incompetent guys at the helms of affair in this country...

He left because he is an Osoba man and Osoba wants more influence in Ogun state government which Amosun was not ready to give

All these man narrated is trash! They departed just because Amosun did not give room for Osoba to use him to amass wealth. All their excuses are brainless. Imagine, because you were not given slot for appointment so departed, that shows they are not really there to serve.

They did not accuse that Amosun embezzled, not that he didn't perform but with baseless reasons. It exposes how self-servive they are

Bunch of traitors,
