The Do It Yourself Challenge by cutelukz: 12:57am On Mar 10, 2015 |
When I was in secondary school, there were stories about girls who did their hair by themselves and this act was attributed to witch craft. There were rumours about how they had to remove their heads in order to weave their hair themselves. Going down memory lane now I can't help but laugh at those rumours. I must admit that I had doubts about these stories. How could they be true, especially when there were other such unbelivable tales like the bush baby and lady koi koi stories? I sometimes wonder who invented those stories that scared the living daylight out of the many boarding schools in Nigeria. All the doubts I ever had cleared some days ago when a friend of mine posted on IG. she had pictures of her braided hair that she made by herself. I couldn't believe it. Did that mean she was a witch? Did she have to remove her head in order to braid her hair. All these questions kept running through my mind but then again i love challenges, and that part of me yearned to take the DIY challenge. I told few of my friends about it and they all had their doubts. Well I was gonna take the challenge and so I set out to buy every thing i needed. Fear enveloped me when i found out the scissors I had bought was nothing to write home about. Even the tooth of a six months old baby was a lot sharper than the scissors. A part of me wanted to give up. We all know the important role a pair of scissors plays in hair making but the other part of me wasn't going to give up so easy, So I threw the scissors away and used a razor blade. Well, I must say it wasn't as difficult as I had expected it to be. I guess it was the zeal to finish to boast of participating in the challenge that kept me all through, I kept telling myself that if she could do it then i could too and i actually did. I must say that I am super proud of myself. I can imagine what some guys are thinking at the moment? They wouldn't have to spend money on their woman's hair any more...lol attributes of an aradite So to the ladies out there, I'm handing the baton over to you. It's your turn to take the DIY challenge. remember everything must be done by you.
