Countdown To General Election (poli-thinking) by Mouth123(m): 9:27am On Mar 10, 2015
Nigerian election postponed and rescheduled to hold later this
month March, may hit the rocks yet again. As an Abuja
High Court ordered INEC to include a brand new
party, named, the Young Democratic Party (YDP)
on the ballot, just weeks away to the election.
Now the National
Publicity Secretary of YDP, Barr. Ugo Nwofor
stated that INEC must reprint the entire ballot box
to include their members who are seeking elective
positions in Nigeria #who wants to vote for them?#

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC,
has said it is yet to take action on Young
Democratic Party, YDP because it has not received
judgement papers of the Federal High Court, Abuja. Thus: YDP party is not listed among those contesting in
the 2015 elections until the court ordered INEC to
issue it a certificate.

Meanwhile, the Democratic Peoples Party has
also clarified allegations that it is among those
calling for the sack of Prof . Attahiru Jega.
Members of the DPP have said that they have
confidence in the electoral body and the
introduction of the card readers during the polls .
The DPP has no presidential candidate in the
forthcoming elections, rather it has adopted the
candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party
(PDP ) .

No one predicted this except those
behind the plot to force a further shift of the
rescheduled March 28 and April 11
elections in the country . Before the latest
development, all eyes were on the military
and Service chiefs on whether they will not
seek an extension..........

to seek an extension of the six weeks required
to crush the Boko Haram insurgency so as
to liberate the entire North Eastern parts of
the country for the election and guarantee
the safety of the electorates,
While the ruling Peoples Democratic Party
(PDP ) and the major opposition party , the
All Progressives Congress ( APC) are daily
engaging each other in war of words over
attempt to manipulate and force a further
shift of the polls.
the YDP leadership
announced that its party primaries had been
fixed for March 26 and 27 whereas, the
scheduled date for the presidential election
as announced by INEC was March 28. From
all indications , the party ’ s main motive
according to political analyst is to force
another shift of the election or truncating
the process entirely. #just like GEJ wanted#
Consequently, the YDP , Nwafor said , has
approved sales of nomination forms as
follows : Presidential ( N 15 million),
governorship ( N 3 million), Senate ( N 1
million), House of Representatives
(N 500, 000 ) and House of Assembly
(200 , 000).
How INEC will wriggle out of the present
dilemma remains to be seen but one thing
is clear : Nigerians , many of whom are yet
to recover from the February 14
postponement may not take it lightly if
another move is made to further postpone
the election . According to those who
commented on the issue, any further
adjournment may have grievous
implications for the country.

Everybody has given different opinions, some said GEJ financed YDP. Report also said the popular Nollywood actor Jim Iyke has joined alliance with YDP.

Federal High Court in Abuja has summoned
officials of a newly-registered political party for claiming its mandate in pressuring the
Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC,
to either shift Nigeria’s forthcoming elections, or
reprint ballot papers with the party’s name, three weeks to the polls.

A judge summoned leaders of Young Democratic Party to appear on March 23 for
misinterpreting his ruling by claiming that the court
ordered INEC to accommodate the party in
the forthcoming general elections. The court had on March 4 ordered that YDP be registered by INEC.
But the party created a stir last week four weeks to the
poll, by claiming the court
had also ordered INEC to ensure it takes part in the
forthcoming elections. The party, accordingly, gave
INEC two conditions, saying the electoral body either
reprints the ballot papers with its name included, or
reschedule to elections the second time.

But, The order made in the judgment by the
court showed the court only directed INEC to register the party. There was no directive to accommodate the party in the forthcoming general elections.
The judge had held in the judgment that
YDP was deemed registered as a political party by virtue of the failure of INEC to communicate its decision not to register the then political association as a political party within 30 days of receiving its
