Two teenage boys have been expelled from a school in Surrey after they stabbed 13 fellow pupils with the pointed end of a diabetes pen.

The pair of 14-year-olds were excluded following the incident at the beginning of February, which was described by the school as "extremely concerning" and led to the pupils involved having to be tested for HIV and hepatitis.

It is understood the teenagers found the diabetes pen on a desk and jabbed their classmates with it.

Police were called in to investigate but no further action was taken.

The school's headteacher said: "We can confirm that an incident took place at the school last month involving a diabetic testing pen.

"The incident was extremely concerning and as soon as we became aware of it all parents of pupils involved were contacted immediately and given the advice received from public health experts.
