Nollywood stars including Ini Edo, Desmond Elliot, Kate Henshaw and the controversial actress, Tonto Dikeh, earlier today participated in the 5th edition of the War Against Rape (WAR) walk which was staged in Ikeja, Lagos.

The annual initiative convened by social and women-right activist, Esther Ijewere-Kalejaiye, was this year endorsed by the Lagos State Ministry Of Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation.

Other notable celebrities who were participated include Joseph Benjamin, Owen Gee, Omobaba, Jimmy Jatt, Monalisa Chinda, Toke Makinwa, Mercy Aigbe, Iyabo Ojo, Kemi Lala Akindoju, Emma Nyra, Emmanuel Ikubese, BEAT FM’s Gbemi Olateru-Olagbegi, Bolaji Rosiji, Ego Obaro, Praise Fowowe, Jerrilyn Mulbah, Jodie, and Toni Payne.

Nice idea. We should encourage the victims to speak up so that the suspects could be properly tried.

Inasmuch as I applaud this initiative, I will say, walking from Lagos to Abuja won't stop the rape menace. Those in authority have got to enact a death penalty for anyone caught, or accused of rape. That will make some sense to those bloody animals.
