Na wa see question. Nothing wrong with your best friend being your family's doctor as long as he's a qualified doctor. It saves you money and he'll be readily available. I don't get the basis of this thread.

Not advised. Conflict of interest. S/he is not neutral and may not be rational regarding should certain issues arise during your medical care.

It is also to preserve your friendship and maintain professional boundaries.
