very true. Much of these threads on the mid-east conflict has been muddied by religious affiliation and emotions. As much as i want to cry for the kids in Gaza i remember no one, not even the UN was bothered about the starving kids in Darfur.

Even the protagonists of Hamas' cause, including its leaders, are all victims of blind religious fervour, which causes their words and actions to be almost completely detached from reality. Its almost as if they are living on a different planet. And this is why all arguments in their favour are centred on Jewish oppression of Muslims, coming back to religion. The Hamas charter is peppered with anti-semitic rhetoric. There is a Hadith (a religious proclamation in Islam) within the charter, that the aim of Hamas is to kill all Jews in existence. It's lunacy beyond belief!

You should try to keep up with the dynamic nature of languages, and while at it learn to distinguish between "historical/classical" and "contemporary" meanings of the words that make up the language you communicate with.

From a historic interpretation, the term "Palestinian" is as you've stated. However, from a contemporary (more apt) interpretation, the term "Palestinian" means Arabs (Muslims, Christians, etc.) under Israeli occupation in Gaza and the West Bank. The Free Encyclopedia describes "Palestinians" as an Arabic-speaking people with family origins in Palestine. The total Palestinian population worldwide is estimated between 10 and 11 million people, over half of whom are stateless and lacking citizenship in any country.

So, let's not confound issues unnecessarily, trying to score cheap points with pedestrian reasoning. I mean, you wouldn't want me to start screaming "you're an anti-Semite" because of your anti-Arab sentiments would you?

I will not reduce myself to personal attacks. It is you apparently who has no clue about what you claim to be supporting. You don't even seem to know exactly what Hamas stands for! I am not led by blind sentiment and emotion. Facts do not lie!

While "distinguishing" between the historical and contemporary meanings of a word it is also important to determine INTENT. The term "palestinian" as i described above can hardly be refered to as "historical" since it was only changed less than 62 yrs ago and had been in usage for more than 10 centuries.

How do you explain the following from your friendly Jewish Talmud? I'm not making any interpretations, just want to know what you or any of those that believe Jewish teachings are ecumenical and all-loving:

Michael Hoffman is often quoted for his writing about the racism in the Babylonian Talmud and the guest on the talk show had referred to him as well. Here are a few of the many examples that Mr. Hoffman gives from the Babylonian Talmud:

@RichyBlacK: Still coming back to the point I was making. Religion is what drives the passion of Hamas and all its supporters. Israel on her part is not fighting a religious war. She has no need to do so. Hamas on the other hand is waging a JIHAD! This is a Hadith in their charter:

Hamas is an acronym of Harakat al Mawqawama al Islamiyya meaning "Islamic Resistance Movement."  More venom in the Hamas charter:

The Islamic Resistance Movement believes that the land of Palestine is an Islamic Waqf consecrated for future Muslim generations until Judgement Day. It, or any part of it, should not be squandered: it, or any part of it, should not be given up. "
