Hello, i wanted to install mysql workbench and i was getting .net framework error. Downloaded the .net framework... it gave the above error. On googling i came accros this site http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-windows_programs/net-framework-installation-problem-hresult/d5d36c35-0b79-4487-95ca-3a721917426f?page=2

and it recommended installing ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp47501-48000/sp47845.exe

and after that tried installing .net framework 4 and my installation was successful and after restarting the computer my mysql workbench and windows update started working.
