Btw, why do you sound angry/bitter? ?

I already told you I do not call results before a match is played.Just relax and watch by March 30 we would have known how influential these politicians are.

Influence is not determined by making noise on social media but rather By elections results. After the March 28 and April 11 elections, we would come back here to assess the politicians

I know that many people will be looking for
amaechi's name but I don't put his name there
because his influentiality comes as a result of
dispute between him and Mr President and he is
not even sure of winning his state.

Everthing start fr somewhere. Amaechi is d key. lf gmb wins in d centre rivers gov wl b apc. Do u knpw that d downfall of GEJ is Amaechi whom pdp wdnt v allowed him to join apc along with 5 gov. he is a force. Amaechi, Tinibu and gmb r d 3 binding force of apc.

How do you know GEJ cannot deliver his wards outside office as president? Has he lost yet? PDP has won virtually every elections conducted in bayelsa state since 1999.If anyone has failed to deliver their wards that should be Buhari and Obj.PDP has been ruling katsina since 1999.

Whatever influence Jonathan wields is by virtue of his office. We are talking here about individuals (not political parties) who aren't necessarily in office and yet have exceptional tried and tested political clout and influence.

Did Jonathan win katsina in 2011? It's an open secret that GEJ's 2011 victory was a fraudulent one based on excessive rigging especially in the SS/SE. Same Tinubu influenced his favorable result in the SW.

GEJ has no influence without bribing in dollars.

The only person that I see in that merit the topic is General Muhammadu Buhari. For someone alone to deliver 11 million votes without political structure speak volume of what influential is all about. Tinubu and Obj re also popular but not in the rank of GMB. Forget about GEJ, he has no influence, what he is using is presidential power. Everyone will see what ll happen the moment he leaves power

Very candid analysis. GMB's CPC of less than two years at the time getting over 12m votes... really incredible.

You are right @ bolded, GEJ is not building or projecting himself but busy building institutions and the nation. We will still praise him when he leaves the office.

You Must be a very big fool. GEJ wins in SS/ SE it becomes rigging but you are quick to ascribe his victory in the _sw to Tinubu even when it was very obvious his own candidate Ribadu lost woefully!!!! How exactly did Tinubu help GEJ to win the elections in the sw? I remember voting in that elections here in Lagos and didn't remember receiving any instructions from Tinubu.

If he was that influential why. Couldn't he win even a single LG during the last ekiti elections.

Tinubu has little or no influence outside Lagos. Aregbesola won the osun polls because of his own popularity and not because of Tinubu. We shall see what will happen in oyo state on April 11.let me see how Tinubu would return Ajimobi to power

Tinubu is no more influential than Peter Obi or Anyim Pius Anyim.Tinubu is influential in his own state of Lagos, just like Peter Obi is in anambra or Anyim in. ebonyi

Buhari has been a serial election loser, I don't see how that constitutes influence

That is why I said it is too early to say who is really influential. Let us wait till next week and see if the PDP would be destroyed before making noise here.

Make people just cool down. After the elections, the results would announce the influential politicians

Why are you indulging that bitter, ethnocentric and hateful chap? He is programmed never to see anything good about anything/anyone Yoruba so of course he will deny Tinubu is influential when even the worst enemy of Asiwaju wll tell you the man is political influence and sagacity personified. The saddest thing to in the world is when people cannot even be truthful to themselves because of prejudice against others. Denying the political influence of Tinubu, from 1999 till today, is like denying that Alli was a great boxer. Anyone doing such is nothing but an irredeemable hater and liar.

I am not wisdomflakes to be indulging a bigot with comprehension issues who does not know what "influential" is, in relation to politics, and assumes it is about winning elections. You are very 'dense' and I have no time to waste on you.

This is pure apc list. But it is allowed. After March 28th, the true list will emerge. Then we'll know who is who. As for now everybody is free to dream on.
Re: 10 Most Influencial Politicians In Nigeria by Nobody: 6:01pm On Mar 21, 2015
Gbawe2:
I Think people are confusing "influential" with the word popular. If we are talking of influential, in the strict sense of the word, then it is Tinubu and "the rest" as Edogirl2 stated. What Tinubu has achieved in the past 8 years is phenomenal and unmatched. He retrenched the PDP from the SW and created an entire political dynasty of leaders like Fashola, Aregbe, Fayemi, Ajimobi, Amosun et al. He worked tirelessly for the formation of the APC and outwitted the PDP at every step of the way. Tinubu is the ultimate kingmaker and the most intellectually sagacious politician in Nigeria. No other has matched the achievement of Tinubu in Nigeria's post 1999 politics.

As an example to put things in perspective, Atiku was a founding father of the ACN along with Tinubu. While Atiku ran from pillar to post seeking whatever he felt would make him President, Tinubu sagaciously and single-handedly built the ACN into a formidable Party that would go on to produce 5 out of the 6 Governors in the SW. In the process Tinubu, with no political position, outwitted and out-manoeuvered very powerful politician and office-holders like OBJ, Gbenga Daniel, Dimeji Bankole, Alao-Akala, Segun Oni, Oyinlola et al. The ACN went on to merge with others to form APC and Tinubu remains probably the most influential politician in the Party to the extent he got his candidate for Lagos (Ambode) over the line ahead of that of Fashola and got his choice (Osinbajo) nominated as VP candidate to Buhari. Tinubu was also responsible for getting all SW Governors to deliver unanimous delegate votes that saw Buhari emerge the APC candidate easily. That is grade A political 'influence' that is not to be confused with popularity.

On the contrary to your postulation , the words influential and popular stands for the same thing and can be used interchangeably . Now , if you say they majority here are mistaking " commonness" with influential/popularity then I will agree with you . This is side note by the way . Other of your points are well articulated .

Addendum ; I have no monopoly of wisdom and knowledge .

If someone's political influence does not translate to victory at the polls, then that individual needs to up his game. As an individual GEJ might not pack a national punch politically, but he has the influence to influence other individuals who in turn cascade the influence further to their various regions to deliver the goods. Now that's influence!
