He is the first president to sign the freedom of information bill into law
He has constitutionally obeyed the provisions of the law and court judgements even in favour of opposition political parties
He has promoted the rule of law and created a conducive environment in the provision of free , fair and credible elections. The 2011 general elections and the governoship elections in Edo , Ondo , Anambra, Ekiti and Osun States has been adjudged by both local and international observers as raising the bar in the history of electioneering in Nigeria.
President Jonathan has demonstrated his resolve to rid the country of corruption by prosecuting fuel subsidy thieves and government officials eg former governor of Delta State James Onanefe Ibori currently serving jail term in the United Kingdom
WOMEN EMPOWERMENT

President Jonathan is the first to introduce 35% female appointments in government
He is the first to appoint a female as the chief justice of Nigeria
He is the first to appoint a female as the president of the Nigeria Court of Appeal
He is the first to appoint 10 females as ministers to manage very sensitive positions in the country, among whom ministries are Finance, petroleum, environment, communications technology, women affairs, water, lands and housing, minister of state for foreign affairs, minister of state for agriculture, minister of state for FCT
He is the first president and commander in chief of the armed forces that ordered the enlistment of female cadets in the foremost and only military university in Africa, the Nigerian Defense Academy (NDA)
INFRASTRUCTURE

President Jonathan rehabilitated the Kaduna refinery after 15 years of neglect by past administrations
He rehabilitated the Benin ore expressway after many years of neglect
He successfully begins the construction of the 2nd Niger bridge that is on going
He begins the construction of the east west road linking the southwest of the country with the south east and south south states
