Setting up a wordpress blog is not that bulky. Note it depends first on what you want. For instance;

Wordpress Hosting: Do you want to have the blog at WP site? or

Self Hosting: Have your own domain and web hosting?

For the first you can go to WP for an account. You can even register a domain and point it to your site. Meanwhile for the later, you can automatically setup your wordpress blog via Fantastico tool in your control panel.

You can also get more http://www.siteground.com/tutorials/wordpress/
