Arrangements may have been concluded for Governor Chibike Amechi to leave the shores of the country late Monday night when the results of of the Presidential election is expected to start coming in. Amechi is reported to have been convinced beyond reasonable doubt that President Goodluck will be re-elected on Saturday. The governor's journey will take him to an undisclosed West African country from where he is expected to watch events as they unfold in Nigeria. There is a very high possibility that Gov. Amechi may may be escaping through the waterways as security has been detailed to trail movements of high profile individuals even since a week now. This the leading opposition political party the APC is very much away of and have consistently accused the ruling party, the PDP of a grand plan to arrest some of their party chieftains. Meanwhile, there are palpable fears in the camp of the APC in rivers state concerning the planned exodus of some commissioners, house of assembly members and a growing number of government appointees in the state. An insider who does not want his name to be mentioned said the state chapter of APC has been battling to arrest the situation even though it is getting out of hand. 1 Like |
