© Osemekeh Ugochukwu Micheal. All rights reserved. I walked through this life Battered and bruised Confidence long gone Heart to fight almost stolen. I fought against my demons I fought, dragging down my demons But the more I fought, the more I struggled And I fell a couple of times. I looked myself in the dirt Failure staring me on the face in my mind People staring at me in the physical Parents, siblings pushing to help But I keep seeing failure through their eyes With no confidence, I keep stealing glances at others Trying to copy everybody and nobody But then I met him Him, who gave so much for me He who believed in me before my parents were born He called me blessed, loved and awesome He claimed that he wanted me the way I was The way I am. It was hard to believe But I really had no choice Therefore I carried my tired bones My crushed body And began fighting anew Of course my demons will not give up without a fight They were storming come-backs And fight-backs They were using my past and my mind Trying to wreck a present I was trying to build And I was soon flat on the ground again. But this time I looked at him, or rather he looked at me. And we exchanged fist bumps I exchanged power with him And he pats me on the back And tells me to get up back For people need me They need me and I must win because of them He sends friends on my way Church folks and others But then he remind me that its him that is my source of strength Not me Then I realised That my greatest weakness will always be myself And as far as I can remember to remember him I will always win So I stand once more Carrying myself up once more Waking up my heart to fight My confidence up Realising that its not only me But me and him Like Kyuubi and Naruto I must stay close with him To win this war So I fight my demons again And at times I fail to meet up But I see my victory ahead of me And I stand Not me, but Him in me Christ rises up in me And I stand to win this war For me and for others For I must have faith for them And faith in Christ For I follow the Savior's path 1 Like |

Yeah very nice.. Work on rhymes too necessary.. Dont make it too long its a poem not a story.. Equal lines.. Impatient readers cant enjoy it.. So therefore make it catchy.. Very nice piece keep it up.. 1 Like |

Impressive. I really wish I could write poems though. Like Fabdedon said, work on your rhymes too. Try to add a rhythmic pattern to your stanzas. It's not compulsory but necessary. 1 Like |

Thanks to all those that have answered me. I kinda write poems from the blue, so adding rhymes or not may not be my forte. However, I will work on that and also on the length. P.S I actually thought it was too long too. |

Who do we choose? Madness! What you ask from us, Madness! Madness called civic responsibility Madness I call it, oh yes its madness! We call it power Yea, the power to chase our defectors And put in our benefactors And those that wish us well Alas! For those who we have to chose Are only perceived pretenders For those around them mask their truths And amplify their lies For there is one A sitting president Whose failures are as long as the Twin Towers And success as short as a hobbit's home And there stands the contender A man of no easy means Feared by all those fattened by the bounty of the land Yet is torn out of his tongue As his old age is more a puzzle than an answer And a fattened few a contraption of his reputation Who shall we chose? Especially at this period of lull And graveyard gloom As our previous folly stares at us. And our failure to be with sense brings forth fruit We look for a savior Yet we are not sure of any of these For its in one's watch that we land at this dead pool And another can be blinded to sell us out. Aye, my fears speak so loud But its not unfounded. So therefore solve this puzzle This maddening madness Who should we chose? |

Another of my poems called 'Who do we choose?' Madness! What you ask from us, Madness! Madness called civic responsibility Madness I call it, oh yes its madness!
