As soon as this plan was foiled due to the security challenges in the North, this glarring facts became even more apparent as Inec subtly announced the numbers of PVCs yet to be collected in the southern states.


Inec staff in places like Lagos where dsmissed for refusing to hand out PVCs to lagosians that are non indegene. The level of corruption in INEC could no longer be concealed. Jega moved on to plan B. Despite, opposition to the utilisation of Card Reader, Jega insisted that the election would not be credible without card readers.

Evidently, so many PDP voters in the south could not vote because the card readers the card readers some selected geopolitical was a huge failure. This was the case mainly in the South. GEJ strong hold. This was not the case in core Norther states like Kano with the highest collection of PVCs.. Thus many voters in the Southern states where disenfranchized because the card readers rejected their PVCs during the election.

Card readers meant to reduce the chances of rigging became a tool used to disenfranchize so many voters especially from the south.


The consequence of Jega action will be felt when the entire oil production capacity of Nigeria is stopped and calls for disintegration is supported by armed struggle in the Southern regions, in addition to Boko Haram in the North.
