VOIP Services Engineer
Reporting to Head, Telecoms Engineering; Head, Media Hosting Services
Job Responsibilities:
The ideal candidate must possess proven design and implementation skills, with extensive hands-on knowledge of software development. The ideal candidate must have intimate knowledge of IP networking, VOIP protocols and solutions as well as working knowledge of other related technology platforms. Experience with systems administration and software development across two main platforms (Microsoft Windows, Linux/UNIX) is essential. Target platforms include analog telephony adapters (ATA), CPE modems, PSTN gateways and commercial carrier grade SIP servers.
• SIP 2.0, UDP/TCP/IP, RTP/RTCP, MEGACO, VOIP and traditional telephony(TDM)
• CPE devices(ATA and IP phones including Grand stream, Polycom, Cisco/Linksys)
• SIP servers/soft switches(Asterisk, Communigate Pro, OpenSER [OpenSIPS], Cisco Call Manager/CME)
• PSTN gateways and technologies(Cisco PGW, SS7, ISDN [BRI, PRI interfaces]); VOIP-PSTN interconnection
• Software development: Linux/UNIX{Perl, C/C++, Java}; Microsoft NET; XML and web services
• Databases: mySQL, postgreSQL, microsoftSQL, Oracle(two or more)
Requirements:
• First degree in computer science, electrical engineering, computer/communications engineering or other related field.
• Must be familiar with VOIP, SIP; Practical experience implementing UDP/TCP/IP transport protocols.
• Working knowledge of PBX/Centrex Systems, SIP-SIP trucking, SIP-PSTN interconnection
• 2-4 years experience
