A woman was arrested, charged and convicted of assault after pouring hot water on her husband for marrying five women behind her back. Now, a court in Lugbe, sentenced 45-year-old Owolati Laide to three months in jail for pouring hot water over her husband while he was asleep. Laide of Abuja, was convicted of one count of causing injury after provocation and was given an option to pay N5,000 fine instead of serving her jail sentence. The judge said that he was lenient because the defendant needs to take care of her six-month-old child. The judge also ordered the victim to desist from committing additional crimes. The husband, Owolati Tajudeem, testified that Laide was angry after his second wife, who is pregnant, came to her home without consent. The man claimed that his wife knew that he is married to five other women. According to the police investigation, during the night, Laide boiled a pot of water and poured it over her sleeping husband. What an irresponsible man! I even blame the women who listen to these kind of losers. Tufiakwa! 6wives and after people will be complaining of poverty. How can you not be poor when you keep marrying and increasing the population? How much is diaper? How much is baby milk not to talk of school fees and the likes. Poor woman, na frustration cause am.
