Loyalty, honesty, faith and hope are all constituents of INTEGRITY, whatever I follow, I sink with that thing to the end. I am no coward and would never be one. I still believe in the presidency of Jonathan even if Nigerians have demonstrated not to; in this mien, I recall the words of my friend Hassan DM which says "In democracy, the Majority have their WAY while the Minority have their SAY".

Its not about being a bad citizen.. Its about loyalty to my nation according to my conviction and understanding and history has demonstrated that the voice of the masses may not be the voice of rationality. However, its not a do or die affair- I revere the character of Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, the courageous lion of Aso rock the inherited the collective mess from our colonial and indigenous masters; he bore them on his 57 year old shoulders while remaining calm to his person. Through him, Nigerians grew a Renaissance that led to metamorphoses of where we are today and gearing towards.

Single-handedly he wrestled power from the 'powers unknown' and gave us the masses back the feel of democracy and the voice the people should command.

He was with many flaws but with developmental craws..

He liberated us from the bench slavery of western trade crumb eaters and married us to another favourable one.

He displayed to me as a youth that I can be in the midst of bad people and still be good..

He gave me the assurance that someday, I as the minority with no good shoes could take a shot at the presidency and win again..

In him I saw a politician without show of affluence and political commandeering like his predecessors.

In him I saw a man with great humility and resonance..

To the ranks of Abiola, Soyinka, Chinua Achebe, Fela and other rejected national heroes like Ken Saro Wiwa I place you today.. Those that left us with landmarks to follow.

I congratulate your well deserved rest even as I know it is not finished. You were a destined child and you executed your own mission- to activate the Youth of Nigeria into recognizing the power she wields.

With a tear I say God bless you sir...

Promise Emmanuel
