The presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), General Muhammadu Buhari, yesterday, assured Nigerians that Boko Haram insurgents will be chased out of Nigeria if the party takes over the reins of power at the centre.

General Buhari, who addressed an overflowing crowd of APC faithful at the Dan Anyiam Stadium in Owerri, the Imo State capital, during the party’s presidential rally, said emphatically that the insurgency in some parts of the North East could not be quelled by the Peoples Democratic Party -led government because the government was corrupt and insincere.

He insisted that the country needed positive change and only the APC could bring the desired change to save the country from total collapse, adding that the major focus of the APC-led government would be to provide security of lives and property and create employment through the provision of adequate power supply.

His words: “ If you elect me as the president of Nigeria on February 14, 2015, I am assuring you that our government will chase Boko Haram out of Nigeria within two months because it is the responsibility of any reasonable government to secure the lives and property of its citizens.
