Odunayaw:Another big factor that makes jets detectable is their radar. When the radar is on, it is giving away its position. But for AESA radars, it is still difficult to track the jet's radar emission when the radar is emitting. but the JF17 block 2 does not have AESA radar. |

DHQUpdate OPERATION WUTAN DAJI 2: AIR COMPONENT OF OPERATION HADARIN DAJI HITS ARMED BANDITS’ CAMP, ELIMINATES SEVERAL FIGHTERS AT DOUMBOUROU FOREST IN ZAMFARA STATE 1. The Air Component of Operation HADARIN DAJI has decimated another armed bandits’ camp in the Doumborou Forest area of Zamfara State. The air strike, which was executed yesterday, 13 September 2020, as part of a new subsidiary Operation, tagged WUTAN DAJI 2, also resulted in the killing of several armed bandits belonging to the gang led by the so-called ‘Dangote’. The target was designated for attack after Human Intelligence (HUMINT) reports as well as series of confirmatory aerial surveillance missions indicated that ‘Dangote’ and some of his members, along with their logistics items and rustled livestock, had established a new camp at the southern edge of the Forest. 2. The Air Component therefore dispatched an enhanced force package of Nigerian Air Force (NAF) fighter jets and helicopter gunships to attack the location. The attack aircraft engaged the target area scoring accurate hits and taking out several of the bandits, while some of their structures were seen engulfed in flames. HUMINT sources later revealed that several of ‘Dangote’s followers were neutralized in the air strike. The fact that I know so much, and I don't rush to comment, or post amazes me, how people with full confidence rush to post what doesn't make sense, as if they are sure of what they are posting, just keeps making me to laugh, what's more funny is that they are averse to advise and truth 7 Likes |

Faithful007:AESA is not as widespread as the mechanically steered array. IMO a lot of factors come into play to achieve "Stealth" (e.g Size, Materials) and the JF17 possesses some to a moderate degree. |

nemesis8u: This is my last post too I hope my brother. It's unfortunate that you think I mentioned ceramics but I dont know the meaning of composites which is just a general term used to define all types of - non metal only - armour alternatives like the ceramics I mentioned. So disappointing that you are not smart enough to know that since I know ceramics, the market price, the met & mat use, the technical disadvantages, the armouring benefits, then at such level I know that ceramics is just one of many types of various composite material options.. Word ceramics as I used it, is how we abbreviate longer full term - ceramic composite armour - please correct your ignorance dear nemesis. https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/abs/pii/S1359836815005119 I plan current factory introduction of composite armour mix with Nigerian MRAP manufacturers, it's not pride, it's being happy to improve Nigerian Def Sec industry. We are Africans but don't assume we are ignorant and only Indians know composite usage ; DICON makes ballistic vests using Aramid Composite - we are coming up with ceramic composites and carbon fibre composites for vehicles kinetic threat armouring. 14 Likes |

How many actually opened the link and read it https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/abs/pii/S1359836815005119 Ceramic cylinder layer armour on top ( strike face / front section ) 1. 1st layer - Ti6Al4V ( titanium alloy ) Middle layer - UHMWPE ( ultra high molecular weight polyethylene ) 3rd layer - Ti6Al4V carbon fiber plate and aluminum alloy 1st, middle and 3rd layer forms the composite armour backplate ( non strike section / backend ) Quote " we chose three materials (Ti6Al4V, carbon fiber plate, and aluminum alloy) as the third layer respectively and combined with the Ti6Al4V (first layer) and UHMWPE (middle layer) to form the composite backplates " end quote. 2. Ceramic cylindrical layer armour Quote " to explore the rational design of the composite backplates, and combine with the ceramic cylinder layer " end quote Thus Ceramic composite armour =/= ceramic armour Composite armour =/= ceramic armour Ceramic composite armour = ceramic armour + composite armour Hence proved Entire credit goes to ecomog and I wish him success for his armour ventures and his life . 2 Likes

ecomog1990 what's your take on padding titanium plate with Kevlar. Example making a normal bullet proof vest(Kevlar material) with chambers/pockets where titanium plate can be snucked in. (Kind of Redundancy). Don't you think this combination is almost impregnable to firearms including high calibre assault rifles etc. and provide double protection. |

BabaOwen:I doubt it is gunshot, was it just a bullet that was fired? No exit point for the bullet or it fell in the train without anyone thinking of snapping it? The official story is that some kids threw stones at the train and were chased off by the police, one was arrested. If it was bandits, why didn't they obstruct the railine and wreak as much havoc as they want instead of firing just one shot? |

BabaOwen:I seriously doubt it was an attack as well. Let me narrate one of my experience while traveling on that train cos I use it quite often. One time, I got to the train station late so I had to go for standing ticket. Myself, an Air force officer with his friend and another guy got a place immediately between the engine and the first coach. Hours into the journey, I heard a loud bang that sounded like a gunshot which scared the sh*t out of me. Seriously, I was certain the train was under attack until the officer explained that the train actually rolled over a stone at high speed. |

The ignorance and comments on fp today was an eyesore.. people talking and bullshitting their own on what they dont know just because of their political and selfish differences.. Just imagine when an outsider gets to read that thread in fp and the comments..tell me why some useless dundehead wont rate us 3rd globally terrorised country in the world.. Most Nigerians are fools and ignorant bastards that maybe poverty and hardship has cause them a post stress traumatic disorder in such a sense that they only see and talk bad about the country irrespective of whatever the case might be.. Such a shame if you ask me.. 6 Likes 1 Share |

seankafor: The problem is, they are so unpatriotic and toxic in what they say and then turn around and wonder why Nigeria is cussed by other Africans. They think if they gain what they are clamouring for, everything will be forgotten. They don't know they are "doing themselves" and future generations. The internet doesn't forget. |
