because neglect took place and training had to go at a slower place which meant the older guys who had experience had to fly but that was like say 15 years ago.
As for military institutions, they are spread around the country its just the popular ones people know.
Military installations are sited for security reasons of which the northern flank is our Achilles heel with a large and porus border as against the south protected naturally by the Atlantic ocean so it is right to site installations there.do you know the military installations in Lagos are close to twenty alone.
mtcheww...almost all the training school for new recruit are located in the north...federal character principle should be applied.
The northerners moved most of the military installation to their region
Rubbish

NAF TAKES GLAUCOMA AWARENESS CAMPAIGN TO LAGOS

In continuation of its awareness campaign on the danger of glaucoma to the health of personnel and their families, the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has organised a medical awareness lecture and screening programme at the NAF Base, Lagos. The awareness campaign was in furtherance of the efforts of the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, at ensuring the welfare of NAF personnel and their families for enhanced operational performance. Civilians, who were invited from the host communities in partial fulfilment of the NAF's corporate social responsibility, also attended the programme.

Speaking at the event, the CAS, represented by the Air Officer Commanding (AOC) Logistics Command, Air Vice Marshal Ibrahim Yahaya, said the awareness programme was timely considering the importance of good vision to military operations especially in a specialised Service like the NAF. According to him, "Without adequate vision, an individual's usefulness to himself and the general society is drastically reduced, much less so in a specialised service such as the NAF". In his remarks, the NAF Director of Clinical Services, Air Commodore FB Shaibu, described the awareness programme as one of the laudable initiatives of the CAS to ensure the wellness of personnel by raising awareness levels of diseases.

The Guest Lecturer, Dr. Mrs Ani described glaucoma as a progressive damage of the eye that causes blindness. She added that fifty percent of those suffering from glaucoma were usually unaware that they had the disease. She identified the crucial risk factors as being race (Blacks), family history, short-sightedness, age (over 40 years) and people with ocular hypertension. She however said that early diagnosis and treatment of glaucoma could prevent blindness. Dr Ani gave four important "Ps" of glaucoma which are preventable, painless, progressive and permanent damage. "It is recommended that you check your eyes yearly", she advised.

The highlights of the programme included lecture, interactive session, screening and treatment of NAF personnel as well as members of the public. The laudable initiative, which held on 13 June 2017, is one in a series of enlightenment campaigns which began on 6 June 2017 at NAF Base Kaduna.
