RESTRUCTURING THE SOUTH EAST GEO POLITICAL ZONE FOR A NEW NIGERIA- Ifeduba " We call upon the only Highest ranking Igbo senator, Senator Ike Ekweremmadu( Deputy Senate President) to immediately decamp to the Apc with a view of clinching the Senate President seat, we expect Governor Rochas Okorocha to broker this deal . Senator Ike Ekweremadu may be emerging as the next senate president of the nation’s upper chamber. Senator Ekweremadu was seen yesterday driving into the Imo State government house with his convoy after attending a memorial service of Hon. Chidi Nworgu’s father in Nkwerreon Sunday. He was said to have engaged in a 90-minute meeting with Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State on the need for the senate president to be zoned to the South East Geo-Political Zone, who may have lost the opportunity to produce the next Senate President of Nigeria for not returning any member of the All Progressives Congress, APC to the senate. It was learnt that the non-availability of any ranking APC Senator from the region to take the slot of Senate President might compel APC to zone the slot to the North Central. But, according to government house sources, Ekweremadu was said to have impressed on Okorocha to use his position as the chairman of the APC governor’s forum to attract the senate president’s seat to South East region. He was said to have told Okorocha that he would emerge the best choice given his rich background and experience. It was not clear if he had made his intention to dump his party, PDP for APC, however, the source said his body language showed that he was ready to leave PDP if the APC would not abandon the Igbo. APC has so far won no fewer than 65 seats in the last NASS election pushing PDP with 44 Senators to the second position in the upper legislative chambers Ifeduba ThankGod Tochukwu ( Aka Mmiri Na Agbo Ego ) A Politial Analyst writes in from East Africa |

Anyone can daydream and fantasise but reality would always sneak up to shatter all illusions. The best the SE can and will get is the deputy speaker position and its to provide a semblance of inclusion, so they stop alleging marginalisation. It will be foolhardy for a cassava farmer to reap from a cocoa plantation. Next time the east will learn and behave accordingly.. bitterness always ends up consuming the harbinger Giving Ekweremadu the SP will be like trapping a man with an unwanted pregnancy, you'll bear the title of mrs but will never enjoy the marriage. 5 Likes |

Mynd44: Apc have zoned the senate President to the Igbos and and the 2023 presidential ticket to the Igbos and we must have it. Dont think that Buhari can succed without the Igbo support. There are more Igbos outside the south East. He cannot do without our support unless he is ready for another full blown Civil war like in the 1967. So we are all teaming together under one Nigeria to move our Nation forward |

No be only clinch na flinch, Ekweremadu should swerve, no place for him! Those that work hard to make it a reality will reap from it. So bukola, should look on abi! It's never gonna happen, let the south east deliver all their states to APC, then we can talk about that possibility. Make the south east forget that post in this administration, they shot themselves in the leg. Besides didn't I hear them boasting its of no means to them 1 Like 1 Share |

tochukwuifeduba: Keep quiet, he can do and will do without your support! You didn't support him during the election, now you think you can give him a meaniless support. You blew your chances already. I only pity people like Ngige and Okorocha who are forward thinking and despite having your love at heart, you will all still find a way to tarnish their images. Civil war my foot , like my people will say, "eni sango ba tooju e whoe, ko ni na won bu oba koso" He who witnessed the civil war among your oldies will never even think about it again! Besides, they zoned it there with the thought Ngige will win, but after you've voted him out, nothing is going there. 3 Likes |

tochukwuifeduba: You know all this all along and you failed to strategise your political future even when it was crystal clear GEJ was going to lose the election. Ngige would've been returned. Politics is a game in which you people have shown to be novice. |

Ibos are sending out "feelers" to test the response on the street. Yoruba Academy supported APC because of their dissatisfaction withe the way PDP ostracised West during Gej administratuin and they know the key players who championed our exclusion. Tinubu will not agree to Ikeremadu without first discussing with Yoruba Academy. Kwara is a strategic place for Yoruba and this is opportunity to support our brothers from Ilorin. So Yorubas will kick against robbing Saraki to reward Ibo. Ango Abdullahi is pro North as well and will put the weight of ACF to back Saraki. Ibos have seen how politics play out whe it comes to power sharing. Let them use this lesson to amend their error in 2019. 1 Like |

SO, he wants to reap where he did not sow? I have heard severally on this forum that the SE do not give a damn about the Senate Presidency. So why the cross-carpeting now? Then after four years, he can de-market the APC and cross back to PDP. Abi? |

I like ekweremadu but the politics they played in d south east is not favoring him. It is not fair to reward people who did not sow anything and deprive those who took risks and sweated. Can you work in nnpc and collect salary in channels tv? I think d senate president will come from d north central. The north central voted with wisdom. The south west voted with wisdom. Even to some extent, d north east voted with wisdom I won't blame d south south and north west because the contestants were from there. But wetin be the south east own? Crying more than d bereaved? Entering d grave with d corpse? |
