eaglechild:He should have apologized. I'm no Yoruba and I don't know IF their culture permits an Oba to do so. Regardless, people have disassociated themselves from him. Even a press release was released claiming the "Lagoon" mention was only an adage. We all know this is false but we shouldn't prolong this issue further. 1 Like |

[quote author=OdenigboAroli2 post=32583645] that is why we dont need their fvcking presidency or senate presidency rubbish, we are cool and coasting on our own. Let them rule and suffer and turn back and blame the igbos for enjoying in naija For the first time I'm saying this buh; “tell ur pple to Get the f**k out of lagos if they can't stomach their hatred for their hosts. If ur too blind to realise the heterogenous nature of the Nigerian ethnic groups then u r destined for more hate induced campaigns against ur ilk. I think its total disrespect against the history, culture, ancestors and indigenes of lagos for one dunce Leader from the east to come and say “lagos is no mans land“ I just pray guys really get what ur looking for with ur naturally bellicose attitude. |

OkikiOluwa1: There is no segregation whatsoever in Igboland and I am proud of it and will defend it anywhere. What you call segregation is nothing but stiff competition amongst our business men and if you can compete you relocate, like some Igbos have done. The business terrain in the east is no child's play and an average hustler will not survive there. The problem with you yoloba is that you don't travel, hence your ignorance. You all believe Ani Igbo is village littered with mud houses...lol Oga abi madam,a well travelled man is superior to an educated person without outside exposure. 6 Likes 1 Share |

Ymodulus: My question to you is this. what do you hope to achieve by trying to counter her opinion? I just hope the Oba is fully ready for what he's asking for. An attack on the Igbos in Lagos won't be taken same way as that of the north, Yorubas will feel the full of wrath of the Igbos 6 Likes |

Babymama1: No one owes anyone anything. You can even undermine anyone interest if you have the power to do so. But i assure you one day what made Whites to supect blacks, middle east to be at war, Zionists to hate gentiles, straights to hate queers, that inexplicable emotions of entitlement will clash and if you are no powerful or bigger than the tragic period of the civil war, then you learn that it is better to follow peace with all men. if you have two legs two arms and an armoured tank remember millions of your brethren that are helpless. when you stand in a market place of thousands of relatives and demand the head of the one that offended you be careful of what they will do as solidarity. Ask why there is amnesty if you could just eliminate criminals! the truth is human right bends to jurisprudence of law as necessity requires. law does not operate in a vacuum of culture. Every tribe has achievers only culture determines how talents come to fruition. If you think that Igbos in their little landllocked portion in Nigeria are more favoured by God than other tribes in Nigeria then I admire your optimism. But before you declare a war dont think of your escape roots should things become too hot think of the millions who limp after your banner of "WE ARE THE BEST" 2 Likes |

Now the northerners are dying daily without knowing what is hitting them. That's their reward and they aint even seen nothing yet. Now they're only internally displaced. An average yoruba corper in tbe east is not thinking enterprise, he is looking for every Nkechi to sleep with, very lazy people. Sanchez01:One cannot hide behind cultural practices to commit atrocities. If not killing of twins, FGCutting etc would perfectly legal. You cannot hide behind the stool of Obaship to utter genocidal statements and then expect the law not to apply to you. Statements from coming from a traditional ruler who is a custodian of the people's culture MUST be guarded at all times. Similar and in fact less inciting statements have led to genocide in the past. The Oba is yet to tender an unreserved apology, he is the one responsible for his actions. |

francizy: 1. l know someone will bring up the civil war ish. How has the fact that the insignificant numbers of SWesterners in the East are in peace justify the turmoil you pole cause down in the West. Yorubas are quite respectful and they know how to keep a level-head where they need to unlike your folks. The point is it is not only the Igbos that are hosted in Lagos. Why the fuss? 2. Nobody is concerned abt that...as a matter of discuss, how many of una remain for una side sef to host other tribes? 3. How does that justify the Ibos mischief in Lagos. The Fulanis are notorious nomads...are you trying to show that Ibos are peaceful then and hence the claims of mischief is invalid? 4. You have, you have, you have, you really have. If you had not, why will we have cause to single the Ibos out always. To the factual. Deltans, Ibiobios and other SS are part of those you pple claim their achievements in Lagos to be yours. No one attacks them. You have insulted our tribe, our leaders and our culture. So much insudordination. Something your tribe will never take. How do you explain the brazen claims that your tribe can single-handedly see to the victory of any guber candidate in Lagos? How will you take that if Fulani's make such claims in Anambra or IMO state. Such insubordination from the overtly virile and blooming Hausas led to the Jos ish. You claim to have bought the lands over, solely developed Lagos, Lagos is a no- mans land etc and all sorts of lies. How many of such lies have you made true in the East? Why do you pay Omo Onile on a no mans land. Show me any Chukudi with an Alimosho LG certificate in the no man's land? 5. Which dues have you paid? Who is demanding dues from you? If you paid dues are other tribes not? All we ask is that you stop ground-standing on a ground that you cant stand. Let us hear the whining of another SS tribe. Keep the noise to the caves only. Stop making issues outta nothing. Stop playing the victim. Biko 1 Like |

So, so on point. This lady is the bomb. Couldn't have placed it better. There are many theories to the problems afflicting Nigeria. One thing I had said long ago. If there is one thing the outgoing administration has done, is to uncover, to expose the soft, raw and perhaps rotting underbelly of the Nigeria State for the one purpose. So that we can find lasting, surgical remediation to our national woes instead of the cyclic failings of patchwork palliatives that go nowhere, the kinds that the Obasanjos and other 'owners', 'custodians' of Nigeria prescribe for us to no effect. First it was proven that the minorities (the non big 3) could lead this country. It was also proven that the north given the right circumstance is not a homogenous block...and so on. The latest which we all bear witness to is that Lagos is indeed cosmopolitan and increasingly belongs to all (which is entirely a good thing by the way) and finally that despite all the claims to education and intellect, many in the south-west lack basic intelligence (no offence intended) on issues of politics, governance, the formation, growth and prosperity of nations including history and all the pitfalls various peoples have experienced. Chiamanda is spot on from most angles. The summation of our collective ills, our national dung that has been hidden under the bed cloth for too long in hope of peace, stability and growth is the biggest source of our discomfort and malaise. We had better look again at the terms of our union, our structure and take the bold but shameful decision to take out that dung and bury it forever otherwise we will not make progress. It has been a bad week for Lagos, perhaps the APC and touchingly the yoruba nation. But it is a good one, for after surgery, Lagos may begin to heal and perhaps emerge stronger, fairer to all and united forever. 8 Likes |

Waspy: That is how you people misunderstand things and jump straight to replying.. How does "AFTER THE CIVIL WAR relate or have anything to do with the civil war? I said AFTER THE CIVIL WAR, AFTER THE CIVIL WAR, AFTER THE CIVIL WAR, do you now understand that i meant post Civil war and not during Civil war before I move forward and clear your doubts? What turmoil are the Igbos causing in Yoruba land? How many times have you took to NL, FB or Twitter to unleash the beast on the Fulani people destroying farm lands and killing Yoruba farmers in your own lands? AFTER THE CIVIL WAR, has the Igbos ever rise up in arms against the Yorubas? But the Igbos have done that on several ocassions against the Hausa/Fulanis in the form of reprisal attacks. Have you ever heard that Igbo men went into some plots of land in Lagos, without paying for it and started building? Has the Igbos ever disrupted any of your gatherings? The fact remains that crimes committed in Lagos are shared equally between the Yorubas and the Igbos? So where is and what is the turmoil you're talking about bro? 4 Likes 1 Share |
