Its sickening to even think that you are yoruba. You bring shame to this great tribe with the garbage spewing out from you. Stop insulting a tribe of enlightened people. Yorubas are accommodating and will always be.

We accommodated you and you decided to take our land from us. Shebi you have won house of reps seats in Lagos abi?

Just wait. Una just start. All the laws that we couldn't uphold in Lagos just because sw didn't have the centre will now be enforced. Starting with movie pirates. I hear they like to challenge law enforcement agents. Well, the police will start their work from may 29.

You will all have no choice but to leave Lagos. All those rep seats will be collected back in the next elections trust me.

We have started an awareness campaign against foreigners who want to take our land from us.

Every action has consequences. You have decided to play power politics on our soil. Get ready for the consequences.

Yes o. Its high time Yorubas unite against these virus Igbo population. We have to make strict laws to protect our ancestral heritage. If not, these greedy Igbo lagoon dwellers are ready to take over our possessions.

My suggestion is, electoral laws should prevent non-indigenes from voting in another man's state/zone.

Whether we like it or not, we are first of all Yorubas before we are Nigerians. We should have a single voice or party just like the ss & se has pdp. It is the crack in our wall that is causing these Igbos to even have the odacity to contest elections in lagos state.

Because of this, I have now become a proud tribalistic Nigerian. #igbosmustleavelagos

Welcome to Yoruba Heritage Defence League(YHDL). We are Yorubas first before we are Nigerians. We are not preaching/promoting violence against anybody but laws that will prevent immigrants from abusing our highly placed Kings and ancestral heritages.

We have learnt and still learning from all the mistakes of our forefathers. And as a result of our past mistakes, we Yoruba youths have decided to come up with Yoruba Heritage Defence League(YHDL).

I ll be creating a Facebook Account for this as soon as possible so as to draw the attention of brothers and sisters in diaspora and within Nigeria state.

Feel free to PM if you can organise and coordinate activities within your local areas.

Finally, we are not preaching or promoting violence against anybody but promoting the interest of Yoruba Nation within Nigeria state.

THANKS.

Well said. Please Yorubas, let us take this up. We are now in a difficult situation. Some flatheaded foreigners are now playing power politics in our land. They want to start rulling us in our own home. No way!

We need to start seeking active regulations to protect ourselves. We need to start think of our brothers first before foreigners.

They are greedy monkeys that must be discouraged from coming to our region.

This is a wake up call to all yorubas. They have said we are mumus. They say we are docile people and we can't do anything to them

It is time to show these Igbo that we rule. We will not go to their land to claim right. They should also not come here to rule us.

All these polling units especially Ogba, Agbado, lekki and Agege is my area and it's dominated by Yoruba.

Not surprised. undecided

Well, it's good Jimi got considerable amount of votes there. Waiting for Jaykay to floor Ambo in Igbo dominated arenas. cool

Sai Agbaje
There are only areas with high Igbo population and not Igbo dominated areas. High population in an area does not mean highest population. I already analyzed this guber election

Igbos have about 20% of the PVC. Yorubas and others have about 80%. Ambode will take 50% out of this 80%(from Yorubas). Agbaje will take 20% (Yorubas n others) out of this 80%. They will share the remaining 10%.

So if we give Agbaje the whole of Igbo vote 20% plus the other 20% from Yorubas and others, he will have 40%. Ambode will still maintain his 50%. So the whole of Igbo votes cannot take Agbaje to Alausa.

However, he is still our son and we still love him. #Agbajeweknow #Ambodewetrust

Just unfortunate that Agbaje is now tainted as an Igbo ethnic politician! Imagine him promising to make an Eze Igbo a First Class Chief in Lagos. Except he was deceiving the Igbo he should know that The Igbo are a fiercely Republican and autonomous people who will not accept the overlordship of a single person as Eze all over Lagos Igbo- confusion will ensue! Just wondering how much of Igbo he can speak - in case he needs to try making a run for Governorship in any of the eastern states!
Shame to the apostles of ethnic politics playing us against one another! Igbo, Yoruba, Hausa et al are Nigerians who deserve to vote and be voted for ANYWHERE in the country.
It remains to be said however that it is an unreasonable and unfair thing to do to hit your host community under the belt by playing the ethnic card in election time when you have not been discriminated against in enjoying the dividend of democracy! The obvious attempt by Igbos at doing so in this elections is unfortunate and will only serve a notice on the Yoruba to be wary of the Igbo as a people nursing an agenda to take over their host community. The Igbo must consciously set out to put the Yoruba (their hosts in Lagos) at ease by correcting that impression.
I think you guys are getting it all wrong. Yorubas on nairaland should stop seeing trouble where there's none. You guys should take a chill pill. Igbos are a people known to be unintimidated. Even if everyone else runs in fear, it wouldn't be a surprise that it would be an Igbo man who'll go to the lion's den and challenge it to a duel.
Jimi Agbaje and Akinwunmi Ambode are both YORUBA NAMES, and this is what some people have forgotten. None of them is even Igbo. Nigeria is operating a democracy where it is your free choice to vote anyone you wish. Why should anyone make a threatening statement to another person, talkless of a group of people just for political gains? Where else in the world is such seen? Is there any sane/civilized society you know where such is done or condoned?

Yorubas have to know one thing. No one is fighting you. The earlier you throw away that imagination, the better. If Igbos(even though I'm sure some of them must have voted for Ambode) decide to vote for Agbaje, it is their choice, same way YOU have your choice.

If anything, I think their anger is directed at the Oba and not any yoruba person. And I'm sure there's no thought of 'taking over Lagos' the way some of you like to imagine. Try not to get it twisted. When something is wrong, say it is wrong. It's not good to defend anyone, no matter how highly placed in society, instead of saying what is wrong is wrong. Any contention during the elections was directed at the statement and the person who made the statement. So, voting PDP was not to fight yorubas (after all, some yorubas must have voted PDP), but to let the Oba know that no one should be threatened, and such statements are wrong.

It's baffling seeing some people acting like there was a battle between yorubas and Igbos, with people that have lived peacefully with for many years? Just because of this one election? Some people don't think about analyzing issues before drawing conclusions or calling a spade a spade.
Please even the president is not God, LET US STOP WORSHIPPING OUR FELLOW MAN IF WE DO NOT WANT TO BREED LEADERS WHO WILL TURN THIS COUNTRY LIKE NORTH KOREA- when he does wrong you cannot boldly correct him, instead ignore it and praise him instead. This is democracy and everyone should be free, truly free in his fatherland.

So, yorubas on this thread who think Igbos are fighting them, that mentality should be dropped wherever you picked it.

If your grievance is 'no man's land' statement, you have the mouth to reply 'it's a man's land'. Peaceful coexistence has been there between the two groups years after your 'no man's land'. Is it this elections that will bring up an 'Igbo man' to 'take over?'....... I never knew AGBAJE to be an Igbo name. Let the joke not be on you.

I believe the reason most people(yorubas) threw away the toll gate imbroglio was because of the ibos.

Most people did not care about toll gate and all and their first mission was to shame the igbos who thought they can come to another man's land to control their host.

Agbaje might have had better showing if he had not used tribal sentiment to campaign.

They love to goad and make unnecessary enemies for themselves. God knows, after this election, things shall not be the same for them again.

And about the piracy, people have asked PAC during town hall meeting what they are going to stop the menace when they get to power. They promised to stop it, I can't wait to see FG and LASG going after the pirate criminals. A lot of people would have loved to invest into movie industry but are discouraged by piracy.

I'll be glad if it could be stopped/eradicated forever.

God Bless Oodualand.

Arnold Schwarzenegger that became a governor in America was not originally American.

Barrack Obama was not originally an American.

Many British Ministers were not originally British, an example is Chuka Umunna!

We are just talking about Igbos in Lagos contesting for democratic roles, what of when a Ghanian living in Nigeria tries to do same.

Africans are too fvcking backwards. gosh

"Grow by the day" then you want to make laws to govern us in our own state. How awesome. We won't allow you Igbos recreate an isreali-palestine situation here. You all have overstepped your boundaries and this is a wake up call. We are going to put you all where you belong.

Like I said to your fellow dumb tribalist

Can a yoruba man vie for governorship post in Anambara? Or wouldn't you mind if a yoruba man be the obi of onitsha?

You ibos have taunted your host and alerted them to your cunning agendas...
Prepare to Bear the consequences.
