The job holder has the responsibilities for carrying out research in all aspects of insurance and the economy Specific duties and responsibilities include the following:

1. Monitoring the developments in the insurance industry regarding marketing, product development, investments, claims settlements and other matters affecting the business of insurance
2. Monitoring and Analyzing global economic trends as it affect the Nigerian economy.
3. Analyzing the Annual Returns of Insurance Companies, and making projections as to future performances
4. Collection, collation and analysis of insurance, financial and economic data relating to all insurance companies in the Nigerian market.
5. Editing and producing a Technical Journal which reflects the outcome of the above activities.
