In the plethora of 1984,oil prices slumped from around $30 to about $14 (53% drop),Buhari at that time did not reduce the pump price of petrol.

Same old military veterans and their cohorts trying to use the same old trick to hoodwink my people.

I hope, in a bid to impress us, these people will not end up setting UNREALISTIC goals?

There's no problem with being optimistic!

I Read your second to last paragraph and laughed.

See, it is like you don't understand the politics of oil subsidy and people involved. (Please get the list of importers of pms and know who they are).

This is how it works. They import pmss and present invoice to the government for payment. The government may want to "verify" by appointing an Agency to vet them. The Agency is made of appointed public officers and career civil servants. Most of these people are puppet of the importers aka "cabals". They give these importers clean bill of health and present their case to the government. The government will be left with no choice but to honor their invoice. Now, if the government refuses to pay, the cabals will deliberately refuse to release the product to local marketers and depots. There arise "fuel scarcity" and hike in pump price. People will protest. Nupeng/penganssan will strike, the civil society will protest, the NASS will pass resolution compelling the government to comply..lol, the government will be taught bitter lesson by the time they are made to appear unpopular. You can't "cut" their pay by executive fiat, the repersursion is worse.

Mind you, there are also cabinet members, powerful party officials and even foreigners that are making huge fortune via this subsidy.

We cannot perenially be held hostage to this slippery slope. Let the General do the right thing, and let's await the fury of the cabal!

One more thing, please! No group is invincible, not even the cabal!

How will Buhari appease the militant and the true oil owners of the Niger Delta?

How will Buhari stop the total melt down of oil production in the Niger Delta?

How will Buhari combat Boko Haram that they created?

How will Buhari fulfil his endless promises?

Buhari has set himself up for a big fail.

He might be the President under whom Nigeria disintegrate later this year.

Him and APC said it's supposed to be at #10 abi 20 when GEJ reduced it to 87,. So we expect to see fuel pump prize reduced to a considerable rate. I am expecting a whole lot from president elect

it will take something phenomenal to bring the price of commodities lower than what they are. Our quest for wealth as against love for our fatherland will hardly make this happen. But seriously, GEJ messed this country up. With fuel at #97 domestically and over $80 in the international market without building a single refinery is sheer wickedness on his part. History won't forgive him.

Only God can bring back chibok girls at this stage, that's why I never believed Jonathan to bring them back with the extra 6 weeks, it's almost impossible because the longer a kidnap takes, the harder the hostiles to find and I think buhari knows this.

But as per pump price reduction, any president can do that provided it's negative effect will be reduced or even eradicated. Corruption has been the major reason of increased pump price but I believe buhari will deal with this.

In your dreams i guess...

Even if fuel goes back to 10N per ltre, except adequate measure is put in place to regulate prices of essential services and products, there will b no reduction.

What's different between 45 and 40 naira? Buhari during his campaign promised 45 naira per litre of gasoline fuel.

We are watching and waiting.
