jaybee3: Don't be deliberately stvpid When has corruption ever been a reason to scuttle an arms deal worth hundreds of millions ? So why are egypt, uganda e.t.c being propped up by arms from this same U.S? When did the U.S government become a responsible government? Don't tell me it is because obama is president as that would be simply laughable. Also, tell me, how do you judge and who gets to judge responsibility in a government? What guarantees did the U.S have that the syrian anti-Assad rebels would use the arms they supplied them only against Assad's forces? What guarantees did they have that they wouldn't become islamic fundamentalists? If they had evidence that the insurgency was politically motivated, who and whom did they say were the suspected protagonists? Why didn't they accuse them with these evidence(s)? Were they admitting that it most likely won't stand scrutiny in the court of law? Yes, with obama's help, axelrod would most definitely be able to sell shekau, I know I would, so don't underestimate the power of propaganda and/or the fickleness of the public in terms of how they can be conditioned into buying a line, story, thought and an idea. So on GMB's integrity, that's stale story, try a different tack next time In law there is what we call circumstantial evidence also, if a combination of obama, axelrod, change in American foreign policy towards Nigeria a supposed ally on frivolous grounds without same change of policies happening to other allies of the U.S elsewhere and John kerry's promise of a better relationship with Nigeria after the elections before ever elections were held don't add up to you then am wasting my time with you. Please be cognisant and conversant with international politics before posting naïve semi-literate comments. 1 Like |

The US can't protect its own citizens from terrorism. There are so many Americans that have joined ISIS. Terror attacks on American soil. 1 Like |

I am afraid of Obama's interest in Nigeria. This son of a devil must be up to something. I fear that he is trying to do the similar things he did in Yemen, Iraqi, Syria and Libya here. That evil man must be feared. 1 Like |

The U.S. Secretary of State, Mr John Kerry, has predicted that the new government in Nigeria might face the challenge of protecting its citizens against terrorism threats. Kerry made the assertion in a statement by the African Regional Media Hub of the United States Department of State on Tuesday in Lagos. The statement quoted Kerry as making the prediction after signing a Memorandum of Cooperation to support disease control and prevention in Africa with the African Union (AU) in Washington D.C. abbey621: Maybe it was because one of the campaign adverts in TV said that we should vote for someone who would guarantee our security.... that's what I thought gave us a lot of hope, so who are you to deny us our security as citizens of Nigeria after winning the elections? |

BushidoBlue: Stop saying jargons, only God can guarantee security and safety. Even in advanced countries, people get killed on a daily basis. Buhari will definitely improve the security of the nation but it might take time, it's not something that can be done in a day. |

baralatie: Of course it's easy to judge GEJ, what sort of president would call Boko Haram " Our brothers and sisters" ? If GEJ spent the last 4 years fighting Boko Haram as vigorously as he did during the last 6 months, he would have been seen as heroic, instead he chose to play politics with people's lives! |

abbey621:if Niger, chad and Cameroon had taken the report from Nigeria serious about using their countries as a launch base.we would not wait that long would we! and let us not forget if the northern elites have been in suppoot of the Military.it would have been a whole lot different. how many times did you hear the northern elites criticise the BH sect as compared to their press release about military operations. |

baralatie: Why must other countries take responsibility for our inaction. The Office of the President is very powerful, Nigeria is not a country that should be intimidated, a strong president would know how to combat any form of insurgency. Who are the Northern elites? Where were they when Abacha was around? A strong leader puts mechanism in place to ensure the life of the citizens are secured! |
