Recently I've been talking a lot about dogs and ticks, in relation to the harmful threats they pose.



The only time I have problem with ticks is when I'm bringing in a new dog into my home. When this happens, I explore some means to make sure I eliminate the ticks and make sure they don't affect other dogs in the home.

How do I get rid of ticks permanently from my Dogs?

Chemical Bathe
Giving your dog a flea bathe would reduce the number of living ticks. This can not totally eradicate ticks as some would still be in the surroundings.

Tick/Flea Spray
Actually, the Tick spray should be applied 30 minutes before the bathe. You don't want to leave any residue of the spray on your dog as this might also be harmful. Particularly, spray the armpits, in-between the paws, the belly. Avoid the eyes are ears.

How do I get rid of ticks in my surroundings/compound?
Eliminating ticks in your surroundings is not just enough. Leftover ticks/eggs in the surroundings can still harm your pet.


Be careful when you use Fumigants/pesticides.




Do a chemical wash. Add some amount of chemical you have used to bathe the dog in water and wash the surroundings with it.




Employ Chickens.




This is my most powerful tool. Infact when I bring in a new dog, my chickens gather around the dog for ticks. They also help I'm reducing ticks in corners/surroundings. Funny but much helpful.

Nice. But you didn't mention the type of chemicals and pesticides recommended for a safe elimination.

Heard monkeys are tick pickers/eaters too.

Really? I've got a bottle in the house, will give it a try. I only know it's good for treating skin infections.

The best chemical ideal for ticks is Amiraz 20,if properly mixed.
I do not romance ticks once I spot a tick on any of my dogs,except the dog went out with me to meet other dogs lately,I will give the dog a chemcal bathe,but if the dog has not gone out in a while,then I believe there is there s ticks present in my kennel,I do a chemical bathe for all the dogs and fumigate the whole kennel.
I don't have ticks,it irritates me to see them on my dogs and their infestation is deadly if romanced,when I mean romance is waiting for chicken to pick them out or picking them out by urself,
It should be eradicated totally from their breeding points.I:e inside the ears,toes and under the feet.chicken cannot reach these spots and so they continue breeding and gradually killing the pet.

Same chemical for fumigation of the kernels too yh.. I actually use spray(bio finl) which is effective too but its always good to try out other methods

@that part where you mentioned usage of hen though, got me cracked up.

If you try that near my dog, the hen will become history in a twinkle of an eye.

There are some stoopid goats, sheep etc that wander like a lost follower around my house so the best lesson I've got to teach them is to tell Kim to attack those mofos animals joor. As we never fence our house now!
