Personal Opinion.
To curb the menace or reduce to a reasonable amount the level of corruption in our society today. The Nigerian Police cannot be left out, as far as I am concerned, they are the key to many decadence in our society today, they are slaves to politicians,domestic staff to the rich and very cruel to majority of the poor populace. Sometimes, I wonder, of what use is a Police station on a street where vigilante is been employed as an alternative for adequate security. Some years ago, I was robbed right in front of a police station, to these men in black most times, road blocks is about papers and notes and not to checkmate crimes. To cut the long story short. I will recommend, that police officers be redeployed to their local government of origin and recruitment should be done to meet up with areas that will need more officers. Let's see if the corrupt officers will demand bribe from his or her own villagers or clan. I believe this will reduce if not help eradicate the decadence of our policing system. Which in my own view has lost her glory. To move Nigeria forward, to actualize change. We need to change the image of the Nigerian police. Then other aspects of change can be achieved.
Or else,, even when the government, provides light, hoodlums will vandalize or make away with vital equipment and if policing is still as it is now in Nigeria, am afraid change is no where near.

Good idea. Simply put, whar we need is community policing or state police. We cannot continue to shy way from the fact that the present police structure is not working. If something is not working, it is imperative that the change we just had is effected in making state or community police a reality.
Whatever the disavantages may be, it can be worked out if the present govt is ready for a change.

lol.there might b an iota of truth in what u av suggested buh let it b known that if a police is bad naturally he will also exhibit bad characters in his way of doing things so i dont tink being in his local govt will change anything.
