At least you acknowledged two important things, igbos are hard worker and you can't do without them, hence they are in Union... . Does it truly mean you lots lazy and devoid of any brain?

No we are smart workers. The new mantra is to work smart, not hard (only foolish people do that).

Even ants and bees know the wisdom of having workers and rulers.

From business and profits point of view, the SE is not and never the ideal place for any meaningful investment. The critical factors are not present to even start with? This is the reason why the little businesses they have in that region are not thriving.

1. Availability and access to raw materials

2. Safety and security

3. Access to major markets and consumers.

4. Conducive business environment and investment friendly local authorities

5. Access to skilled, motivated and educated labor.

With Ibeto,Guo,Innoson and very numerous businness tycoons already domiciled there it would be bad idea for Dangote to start there(he will be chewed raw by the stiff competition).....tis like asking GM to go fight for market dominance in Japan, the hometown of Honda,Toyota,KIA,Mitsubish etc....Tis good thinking to fight for dominance in the neutral grounds of Southwest and the rest of the country....You know how those slaves enjoy paid employment and pean nuts....no businness acumen, industry or competition.South West is every industrialist wet dream.

You'll soon die from this southwest beef. Igbo always blaming others for their mishap. Getting mad at the world cos u came from a broken home. Get a life, buhari's victory is giving u sleepless nights. Better get a grip before u die cos no one knows u

Let's not derail the thread. Remember, the guy is accusing Dangote of not being fair to the Igbo people. That he should help them spread his investments to their areas. The superior business ingenuity of the investor is not questioned by the crier. Let's help him find a way to push his request through. If you can't help, don't add to his burdens. Leave him to his wails. Somebody, somewhere may pass his request to the great investor.

To start with, Ogun state alone is more industrialized than the whole SE combine, so I don't get your point.

From www.dangcem.com

Dangote Cement Plc (DCP) is Nigeria's largest cement manufacturer with ambitious plans to expand into 14 other African countries. A fully integrated quarry-to-depot producer, the Group has production capacity of about 19 million tonnes a year in Nigeria. At 10mt, its Obajana plant inKogi state is the largest in Sub-Saharan Africa. The recently opened 6mt Ibese plant is less than 100km from Lagos, in the fast-growing South West of Nigeria. The Group’s Gboko plant, in Benue state, is expected to be upgraded from 3mt to 4mt in early 2013.

Dangote Cement is investing more than $4bn to expand its production and import capacity to around 50 million tonnes a year by the end of 2015. The investment will increase capacity in Nigeria to at least 32mt, with new capacity being added at Ibese and Obajana, and a new factory being planned for Calabar, in Cross River state.

The Group’s African operations will include factories in Senegal, South Africa, Cameroon, Gabon, Benin, Ethiopia, Tanzania, Zambia and the Republic of Congo. Import and bagging facilities are planned for countries including Ghana, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Cote d’Ivoire and Togo.

Dangote Cement is the largest company on the Nigerian Stock Exchange, having listed its shares in October 2010.
the Kogi state he has his biggest cement factory, what value does it add to the state? ..Is the state better than any state in the SE/SS?

What and where has the current president with doctorate interest in zoology invested.

The irony is Dangote makes much of his profit via his distribution chain which isn't exclusive to his company but is deregulated to independent marketers......are you pondering what we are pondering?? Independent marketers....What tribe is massively invested in trading and businness?? Igbos...thus a wealthy Dangote means a healthy, wealthy marketing chain dominated by igbos especially in viable economic hubs of Southern Nigeria..It keeps getting better and better for the igbos.

Its only when I came to Lagos that I discovered Dangote monopolize the entire cement market. In East cement manufacturers and importers are giving him a run for his money.

In East there is

Dangote Cement

Ibeto Cement.

Unicem.

Elephant Cement.

Eagle Cement.

But here in Lagos its only Dangote that people normally buy.

This is a business mogul actually the richest black man on earth who sees business opportunities where average business men don't. He has investments in south west and north and north central even across Africa. But none in igbo land.

Does it literally mean south east is unfavourable for big enterprises to rise?

Well, with the Igbo's continued quest for a country of their own, Dangote might not think it profitable to establish a factory in an area which may break away from Nigeria someday.

In Israel, for example, Jerusalem is Israel's capital. However Jerusalem is divided into East and West Jerusalem, the West belonging officially to Israel and the East to Palestinians. However, the east, not being part of the original country plan for Israel, was annexed by Israel and Israel's continued ownership of East Jerusalem is not assured for this reason. The US government, when about to site its embassy, chose not to build their embassy in Jerusalem but in Tel-Aviv which is a legal part of Israel, as carved out by the UN in 1948.

Dangote doesn't like where there is competition. That is why you see him going to places like Zambia and all that to invest.

I wonder why most of people commenting don't think. Why is it so difficult to know that most factories are located nearness to major raw materials. From all Dangote produces, which of the raw materials could be easily found in the South East?

But before you ask why the richest man in Africa is not investing in the Southeast region, you must first ask why southeastern people are not investing in their own region. When you get the answer to that question, you will automatically know the answer to your Dangote question.
