It baffles me how scholarships are awarded in this country of ours... I have gone through and through this list and wasn't able to find any name from the middle belt...hmmmm! I hope this list of so called first class candidates does not involve those who bagged theirs from all those private universities through settlement packages (didn't mention any name o). |

deen87: I am bothered that majority of the people here do not know much about PRESSID scholarship. Unlike other scholarship awards like PTDF, NITDA, NDDC etc that ensure federal character is maintained by picking the top candidates from each state, PRESSID is a scholarship that ensure 100% merit. The scholars are hoped to distinguish themselves in science and bring innovation down to Nigeria. There is no limit to which your study is bound. You can study up to PhD level once you have the scholarship. The qualification for the entrance examination is a first class degree. This is the only scholarship that is not sectional and tribal in Nigeria. Let's be proud of this as Nigerians. Everyone could be Yorubas or Ibos or Efiks or Hausas. It all depends on who made it to the top mark. This is a scholarship that want to ensure best brain are tapped for Nigeria's development. National University Commission undertakes this process on behalf of federal government and funded by TETFUND. 14 Likes 4 Shares |

CaptainOjemba: 170m Nigerians with a geometrical no. of ethnic groups? We have to share things to the best of our ability for fairness to prevail, there exists a balance of equality and competence for your info. The criteria for pressid is a 1st class degree and its not too hard to find in any part of Nigeria. |
