Please I need your advice. I recently got my Canadian study visa approved about 2 weeks ago. But a week before the approval of my visa I and my spouse got married and I submitted her application with a “New account” as a “Principal applicant” with sufficient funds. So I am planning to defer my admission till May because I don’t want to leave her behind due to her health condition. Though I’m planning to travel to Canada in January but return after 2 weeks without enrolment.

I would like to know if it’s a good decision to travel without enrolment and return.

Also, I would like to know if there are any other things that I need to do because I created another account for her as a principal applicant when I wanted to apply for her SOWP

As a student, one of the documents you'll need to be allowed to travel to Canada is your letter of enrollment. Without it, I doubt if you'll be allowed entry into Canada.

You can of course enrol while in Nigeria, print out the letter of enrollment, travel to Canada, unenroll in your first two weeks there, and then return to Nigeria (immediately).

But I personally dont see why you'd want to enter Canada as a student and then leave again without starting any classes. Why not simply wait till May to (hopefully) travel with your spouse without the back-and-forth movement?

Why should they be averse to a visit visa though? You’re aware there is a “Spouse or Common-Law Partner in Canada class sponsorship” for Canadians whose partners are in canada. Apparently processing time is a lot faster than when your partner is not in canada. A friend who is a PR is taking this route and already processing same for his wife.

I understand every application is different but we won’t know until we try, besides applying for a visit visa wouldn’t affect a spousal sponsorship application. That’s the whole point of dual intent which is also conflicting by itself. It’s a lot of blurred lines to be honest but God dey.

Become a PR first. Even visit visa application is not any faster. That would be waste of everything though.

My spouse would have fulfilled some conditions that would still maintain my current CRS score mid next year. This way she can come with me as a PR.

Do you mean the cash is low? My Hubby needs 4,000 CAD and my kids 3,000 each = 12,000 cad in total, and the total amount in his personal acct is a 9.8million naira, Business account is 3 million Naira ... And the attached rental income also is there ..

Am in school and already paid 20,000 CAD out of my school fees, this is my first semester.

Reason for refusal: Insufficient funds and not satisfied you will return.

Almost all churches give same wedding certificate as Court..Your church is suppose to get the certificate from a registry...it's just the location that differs...My court and church wedding certificate were the same... exactly the same...I don't know about Muslim though

I have done upfront medical since September 2 and they have not updated it on my application.

Either of you can open the GCkey, it doesn’t matter. The difference is that if you are the one opening the GCKey and filling in the application, you would need to fill the use of representative form. Also you can start the application to see all the required documentation. Most important for me will be your POF and SOP stating why you need them to come.

Please, all the forms, which one needs a physical signature, is it the use of representative alone or using the applicant names can suffice for the signature.

Also, the work experience section says list work done for the past 10 years, and only 3 columns available, while the work experience is more than 3, how can I add to it? Thank you
