Edoboy21:Bullshit. There is no corruption at the Polish embassy. The only corruption I see is Nigerians scamming Nigerians and claiming they know someone at the embassy who will help get a date for a fee. Ya'll should be mad at your fellow Nigerians perpetuating the fraud. There are probably thousands of people trying to get a date, and you expect no competition? Appointments come and go swiftly due to influx of users, nothing more. Publications like this will not make it any easier. Saharareporters are only after the clicks. They did not carry out any investigation other than a onesided narrative. 7 Likes |

Edoboy21:Mr. "approbating and reprobating." Please kindly submit your so-called "concrete proofs" as you have claimed or be quiet instead. Provide the names of the embassy staff involved too. I'm yet to see your own objective analysis. That is if you even have any. I doubt. If you like, go and protest. That's on you entitled folks who think Poland is your birthright. PS: The tricky thing is you just created this account just to post this SH link. Maybe you work for Saharareporters? Looking for more comments Mr. Journalist? 1 Like |

I might want to agree with Refix here. Visa is not our birth right. If a particular embassy says they cant issue visa or appointment date, who are we to complain? We can only continue to hope or try another country. Is it a must we go to Poland? Bribery has always been a Nigerian thing, especially when we have excess number of applicants. So what's so special about the news. If you have the money apply to UK. You will get date the next day. Let's stop feeling bittered. We can only hope and pray (if you believe in prayers). Those of you who are saying that it's not our birth right to be given polish Visa should understand that we have the right to apply for visa of any country that have bilateral relationship with Nigeria. Just like citizens of that country have the right to also apply for Nigerian visa. If the Polish embassy/govenment does not want Nigerians to visit their country let them call off the bilateral relationship Nigeria have with Poland. They are not doing international students any favour by issuing them visa for study purposes. The last time I checked Nigerian students are not studying in Poland for free. We are contributing to the Polish economy by paying our hard earned money into their system. They should inform their universities to stop giving Nigerians admission if they don't want Nigerian students in their country anymore. I don't understand the reason why prospective applicants/students who want to study in their country will pay application, enrollment and tuition fee only for the embassy to be acting as if they're doing those students who are applying for study visa a favour. I repeat the Polish embassy is not doing anyone any favour. If it's German embassy we can conclude that they are doing us favour because education is 100% free in Germany apart from the state Baden Wüttemberg which started changing €1,500 tuition since 2017. Those of you who are trying to defend the Polish embassy in Nigeria that there is no corruption perpetuated by Polish embassy staffs should have a rethink. There is corruption everywhere. Corruption is not just a Nigerian thing. It's just that Nigeria's level of corruption is higher. Selling of visa appointment dates is not new in Nigeria. What is going on at the Polish embassy right now was what was going on at the British High Commission in Lagos sometime in 2003/2004. The British High Commission gave a particular number to call for those who wanted to book for visa appointment. You can call that number from today till tomorrow it will be ringing but no one will take the call. There are some people outside the embassy who were collecting btw 30-40k for appointments. Those people were working hand in hand with the embassy staffs. Nigerians started complaining until the system was changed. I don't know about the current system but I believe that it will not be as bad as it was back then. Lastly, those of you asking for proof why don't you carry out investigations on your own and find out if it's true or not? Whenever a case like this is reported, it is left for the authorities to examine it critically and carry out investigations to ascertain the veracity of the allegations. I so much appreciate how you expressed your thoughts and opinions in a very polite way. Big Kudos to you. You earn my respect. I wish every Nigerian can always sound un-insulting whenever we are trying to make a point. However, let us have it at the back of our minds that the population of study visa application is now so high coming from Nigeria. Poland embassy can never open their door to all of us. There is a limit to the number of applications they can receive whether we are paying high tuition or low tuition. Whether we are contributing to Poland economy or not. We must not forget that 4-5 years ago, it was never this difficult to enter Germany or Poland. Infact i had friends who did submit incomplete documents at the embassy or who didn't complete the so called German blocked account and still got visa. Things have changed. Time has evolved. Number of applicants in Nigeria have increased immeasurably. The same way some of diverted attention from Germany to Poland, is same way we need to start looking for alternative Countries where volume of applications are still very light at the moment. victz: 3 Likes |

victz:I believe you know the Population of Nigeria, coupled with the fact that several West African nations also use this embassy. How many people do you think they can attend to in a week? Poland is not doing you a favour but Germany is, right? Fine. Why don't you ply the German route? Is it easy now? Is it fast now? I believe you know the answers. If Poland is not doing you a favour, why are you struggling to go to Poland? Why not some other European or African country? Better still study in Nigeria. Have you ever done any deal with someone who works at the Polish embassy or even a Polish national in regards to visa appointment? Or your facts and proofs are based on what a random agent tells you. It is one thing to point fingers. It is another to back it up. If you say the embassy is involved prove it and I will change my stance. Once again, Nigerians are the ones scamming fellow Nigerians who are desperate to get an appointment date. 2 Likes |

Re: Polish Student Visa by victz: 7:25pm On Sep 15, 2021 |
I was in Warsaw and Gadńsk between the ending of June and early July for summer holidays. I am not applying to study in Poland. I did my MSc in Germany some years back. So don't think that everyone on this platform is struggling to go to Poland for studies like you. I have visited many countries which includes Germany where I reside, Switzerland, France, Austria, Great Britain, Netherlands, Denmark, Italy, Luxembourg and Lichtenstein. I can visit any country of my choice without restrictions whenever I want to. That so many people are applying from Nigeria does not mean that they cannot make it easier for applicants to get visa appointment dates. Up until middle of 2019. Once you gain admission to any German university all you need to do is to send an email to the German embassy requesting for visa appointment dates with your admission letter attached. The embassy will respond to your request and give you an appointment date within 24hrs. Germany adapted strict measures by introducing Category A and B in 2019 thereby making it difficult to get an appointment date. The reason why I don't blame them is because it could be that they have already gotten the number of Nigerians they want in their country. Thereby making it difficult for others to come over for studies. Secondly education is free in Germany. Benefiting from the free education scheme is not a right it's a privilege. Countries that this problem is affecting are Nigeria, Cameroon, India, Bangladesh, Pakistan and Iran. That was similar to what happened when America banned Nigeria from participating in their diversity visa Lottery few years ago. The reason they gave was that they have gotten the number of Nigerians they needed through that scheme. When it comes to deal with Polish people. I booked an apartment in Gdansk during my recent vacation there. Daily rate of the apartment was 145Euros per night via booking.com. They did not mentioned anything about deposit. I got to Gandsk the guy who was to give me the keys to the apartment insisted that I must pay 450zloty which was equivalent to 100Euros before the keys to the appointment I paid for will be handed over to me. I don't want to argue much because it was raining and cold. I don't want to continue standing there with my luggages and argue. I asked him when do I get my money back? He said that he will give it back to me when I'm checking out. Up till today the guy refused to return my money, the money he collected as deposit. I have reported the case to booking.com. I have submitted proofs of payment receipts. If booking.com failed to get me back my money from them I will have no other option than to inform the Polish police. That is to tell you that Fraud is not a Nigerian. Fraud is everywhere. I insist it is your right to apply for Polish student Visa once you've paid your application, enrolment and tuition fee. It's only people who does not know their rights that think that the Polish embassy is doing them a favour. Why did you think that the Polish embassy is giving you the right to appeal after denial? It is because they know that it's your right. A guy was denied after he appealed. They gave him one more chance to appeal in Poland if he feels that his visa denials was unjust. Why do you think that they were doing that? It's because they know vividly that it's his right. Lastly, Some Nigerians are scamming fellow Nigerians yes. We Nigerians are good at that. But do not rule out the fact that there might be collaboration with some embassy staffs. It happened at the British high commission. When the issue was raised the British authorities did not debunk the claims. They carried out an investigation and discovered that it was true before they decided to change the system. If you report the Polish embassy today to the Polish authorities, they won't debunk your claims. They might ask you for evidence. Even if you did not provide it. They might conduct and independent investigation on their own to find out the truth. Knowing your rights is not a curse bro. Have a nice evening. Refix: 6 Likes |

victz:The same way Germany can't accommodate everyone is the same way Poland can't too. FYI, the Indians also have issues with appointment booking. This should ring a bell that population plays a huge role irrespective of if tuition was paid or not. Tuition payment does not guarantee appointment, same way visa does not guarantee admission into the supposed country. I never said corruption is a Nigerian thing. Did I? Stick to context. We are talking about appointment booking here, not your Polish vacation. If you have any evidence the Polish Embassy is involved in the appointment fraud, prove it. It is as simple as ABC. No need for long epistles. 2 Likes |

This guy it's like you love arguments so much. Why are you twisting/changing the narrative? You accused me of struggling to get a Polish study visa that was the reason why I talked about my vacation. I never said anything about my vacations until you started your complimentary accusations. Why not take your time to examine my comments critically before rushing to reply? Education is free in Germany, Education is not free in Poland for international students. Germany might decide to reduce the number of Nigerian students coming to their country for studies and those other affected countries it is their choice. Poland charges tuition, application and enrollment free. You are entitled to Polish study visa provided you meet the requirements. The population of Nigerian students in Germany, Poland and other EU countries is not even up to one twentieth compared to the population of Turkish people living in Germany and the EU. There are more Iraqis, Afghans, Syrians living in Germany, Poland and other EU countries compared Nigerians. People from those countries mentioned aboved pose more threat to their citizens and country than Nigerians. Yet they are still accepting them in their thousands. The highest Nigerians can do is fraudulent activities, drugs and other illicit trade. But people from those other counties are capable of doing all those stuff and also capable importing terrorism into the EU. They have done it severaly and they are still doing it. Yet European government are they're still allowing them in in their thousands every year. They even prefer Arabs to black African student. Indians have issues with appointment booking for German study Visa not Polish study Visa. Please, note the difference. For instance a German political party named Die Grüne is currently slugging it out with the German parliament concerning the reports they got that Germany embassy in some countries are making it difficult for students from those affected countries to get visa appointment dates. That is how things works. Our duty is to report fraudulent activities not any proof. It is left for the Polish authorities to carry out investigations. If you report this issue to the Polish authorities without proofs. They won't debunk your claims just like that. They will carry out independent investigations into the issue. People reported the fraudulent activities that was going on concerning British visa appointment slots/date at the British high commission in Nigeria. What the British government did was to carry out investigation. After conducting the investigation they found out that those allegations was true. They changed the system. British study visa is the easiest to get from Nigeria as at today provide you have the funds. Refix: 8 Likes 1 Share |
