I disagree on that of Mugabe, maybe am one of his supporter here in Nigeria. To buttress my point, as long as I condemn mugabe for being too long in power I refuse to refer him as a "tyrant" as regarded by the white supported by african puppet. Simple reasons- 1. Zimbabwians citizen have been under the oppression of the white migrant before the emergence of Mugabe, to cut the history to its size, Mugabe discovered that the most fertile part of the zimbabwian soil has been occupied by the white farmer while the blacks were limited to a soil-less land for farming, not only that, the black farmers were restricted from entering those fertile areas, nor work in those areas except they want to be used as labour in their own country. These infuriate Mugabe which make's him to chase those white out of those areas by re-distributing among its citizen, the white farmer responded by reporting Mugabe to UN which led to the total break down of the economy, the UN withdraw aid, foreign exchange and even failed to buy their natural minerals. I won't forget the question mugabe ask the whites "how many blacks have a huge farmland in britain", that led to Mugabe blackmail till date. 7 Likes 2 Shares |

Dont know your definition of dictator. A list without Hitler, Baby Doc, the North Korea guy, former Chinese leader, Mobutu, Sadam, Ayotallah etc is incomplete. I guess you were focusing on sit tight African leaders not dictators |

i have somewhat agree with all but one - Robert mugabe. i think you should do more finding on him b4 u label him (bad dictator). A dictator he is ( to some extent though) but being totally bad, NO. european & american security agents even connived with the opposition leader to assassinate him but failed because he's people raised the alarm. I think he should be on the list, but Mobutu Seseseko of Zaire should be on this list. 2 Likes |

IzonOwei: I agree with your last sentence. The definition of a contemporary dictator must be contested and negotiated. There would be tensions and modifications here and there...but for someone to upload a fatally designed tag for some past leaders in Africa as dictators is unfortunate. Jonathan would qualify in every ramification and standards in the modified definition of dictatorship based on his past and present antecedents. |

Nguema was the first president of Guinea. Though not as brutal as some other dictators, he managed to do some of the weirdest crimes out there. Some of his crimes include stalking his mistresses’ former lovers. Other crimes he committed were intellectual murder by killing the intellectuals of his country. According to reports , more than a third of Equatorial Guinea’s population had to flee to other countries to escape his brutal reign. It was also reported that he ordered execution of entire families and villages, during the time of his reign, the country had neither a development plan nor proper accounting system for government funds. Macias Nguema trusted no one, he spent most of his time in his ancestral village of Mongomo, where he kept the national treasury right under his bed or in suitcases in his hut, but on the 18th of August in 1979, he met his end by his own nephew who sentenced him to death. His nephew Teodoro Obiang Nguema is still in power to this day. He adopted socialism to the so called needs of Somalia. His influences came from countries such as China and Russia. Though he attempted a lot of good, Barre committed a significant amount of human rights violations such as jailing dissidents. Barre was also very well known for using his power to remove all opposition or people who just didn’t like. Barre died in political exile in 1995, but was returned to Somalia for burial in his home region. His biggest call to fame was in March 4 2009 when he was issued an arrest warrant. Omar has been charged with seven crimes against humanity. Omar planned to commit genocide against several ethnic groups such as the Massalit and Zaghawa groups, Omar is regarded by many today as one of the worst dictators of Africa. His rise to power was from Libya invading Chad. Habre and his troops defeated Libyan troops and sent them packing in November 1981. However, many human rights groups hold Habre responsible for killing thousands of people. These killings include massacres against Hadjerai, and Zaghawa. The Human Rights watch charged him with authorizing the murders of tends of thousands of humans and torturing them while under his rule. Idi Amin is someone that doesn’t need too much introduction, he is one of the worst dictators of the last 20th century, also known as the “Butcher of Uganda”. This 6 feet 4 inches tall Ugandan boxing champion made the highest rank possible for a Black African serving in the British Army. This man committed some unbelievable brutality that only modern day Mexican drug cartels would touch, It is belived that at least 300,000 people were killed during his regime. He was born some time in the mid 1920s in Koboko Uganda and died in August 18 2003. This butcher left his mark on the world by using his infamous killer squads to murder his opponents and their families. He showed no mercy to anyone. The scariest thing about Amin was his ability to change from a gentleman to an incredibly angry person with no provocation. Amin is some that has been described as erratic, unpredictable and outspoken. After the United Kingdom broke off all diplomatic relations with his regime in 1977, Amin declared he had defeated the British and conferred on himself this full title: “His Excellency, President for Life, Field Marshal Al Hadji Doctor Idi Amin Dada, VC, DSO, MC, Lord of All the Beasts of the Earth and Fishes of the Seas and Conqueror of the British Empire in Africa in General and Uganda in Particular” your list is incomplete, you didn't mention Banda and bukassa |

Rogert Mugabe is probably the last lion that will roar for Africa. how can you be truly independent if your colonial masters still run 2/3 of the main national Income earner (farming), and they employ black farmers. can any one of u allow a stranger who enters you home(by force or with ur consent) to be controlling critical affairs of your home and lord over u and your family- would you still honestly claim to be the owner of the home it is important to note that befor he carried out the plan of chasing the farmers, he had petitioned the UK govt to dialogue over the issue and after delaying and promising for years they told him in no clear terms to **** himself... i like for u to imagine, u have a problem in ur home and instead of u immediately getting rid of the problem, u reach out to others for help, they BS u, what would u do.... kinibigdeal: |

Borrussia: Sekou Toure should not be in the list. He is pan African. western Govt painted him black cos he disagree with them and he was betrayed by Senegal and Ivory Coast presidents before the French colonial masters. The little infrastructure in Guinea then was dismantled and taken to Dakar and Abidjan. I HAVE BEEN TO GUINEA, THOUGH ITS BEEN 5 YRS. AGO. ALL INFRASTRUCTURES, BARRACKS AND HOSPITALS IN GUINEA WERE BUILT IN SEKOU TOURE REGIME. It will be more fair if Lassana Conte or Alpha Conde has the bad name. 1 Like |

Twelve British ex-army officers, who were to be in Amin's armed forces, swear the oath of allegiance to Idi Amin in Kampala, on Nov. 3, 1975. Ugandan President Idi Amin is carried in a chair by four British businessmen during a party for diplomats, July 1975, in Kampala, Uganda. 1 Like |
